What makes a great horror monster? From classic Universal creatures to the practical effects and unforgettable designs of '70s, '80s, and '90s horror, we're getting into the monsters that made us fall in love with the genre.
This week on The Physical Cut, Krloz is joined by GC from Face the Movies, host of Friday Night FRIGHT Night Podcast and creator of KeptCase, a collection-tracking app for physical media lovers. Together, they explore what separates a monster from a villain, the artistry of practical creature effects, and why horror classics like The Thing, The Fly, Pumpkinhead, Candyman, and The Blob continue to stand out.
From childhood memories of renting horror movies on VHS to the nostalgia of revisiting these films on physical media, this conversation celebrates the creatures, craftsmanship, and moviegoing experiences that keep horror fans coming back.

00:00:00 --> 00:00:02 You can actually take this out. If you ever find
00:00:02 --> 00:00:05 yourself in the middle of the night wondering
00:00:05 --> 00:00:08 if you have Conclave, if you drop your VIX in
00:00:08 --> 00:00:10 the middle of the night and bump into your book
00:00:10 --> 00:00:13 of Conclave and wonder if you had the red version.
00:00:29 --> 00:00:31 Welcome back to the Physical Cut where films
00:00:31 --> 00:00:33 live beyond the stream. My name is Carlos. And
00:00:33 --> 00:00:36 today I am actually joined with one of the more
00:00:36 --> 00:00:39 connoisseurs when it comes to horror, Mr. Fright
00:00:39 --> 00:00:44 Night. himself mr gc straight from florida mr
00:00:44 --> 00:00:46 gc how are you doing today what's up brother
00:00:46 --> 00:00:50 doing good man how are you doing i'm good i'm
00:00:50 --> 00:00:52 good you actually had me waking up early today
00:00:52 --> 00:00:54 to record i thought you were more of a night
00:00:54 --> 00:00:56 owl i'll tell you man i definitely am a night
00:00:56 --> 00:00:59 owl and then unfortunately as i've gotten older
00:00:59 --> 00:01:02 and then having a dog like now i'm also a morning
00:01:02 --> 00:01:06 person so it's like the worst combination GC,
00:01:06 --> 00:01:08 I wanted to bring you on the podcast today because
00:01:08 --> 00:01:10 recently you become a techie, one of those Silicon
00:01:10 --> 00:01:15 Valley boys, and you created a new app for physical
00:01:15 --> 00:01:18 media collectors. Not just movies, but also books.
00:01:18 --> 00:01:20 I went through the app and I saw that it had
00:01:20 --> 00:01:23 for books, it had for movies, CDs, and basically
00:01:23 --> 00:01:26 everything physical media in there. How did you
00:01:26 --> 00:01:30 come up with that idea? Man, so honestly, it
00:01:30 --> 00:01:33 was out of necessity. And the reason why, it's
00:01:33 --> 00:01:34 because... Obviously, being a physical media
00:01:34 --> 00:01:38 collector, I have everything under the sun. I
00:01:38 --> 00:01:41 collect CDs, movies, books, a few comics here
00:01:41 --> 00:01:44 and there, video games, you name it. So it was
00:01:44 --> 00:01:48 kind of a bit of a pain to have a bunch of different
00:01:48 --> 00:01:50 apps to be able to catalog all these things.
00:01:50 --> 00:01:53 And then the inconsistency and lack of features.
00:01:54 --> 00:01:56 I know I have friends that use Excel sheets to
00:01:56 --> 00:01:59 track their stuff. Or Notes on the iPhone. I
00:01:59 --> 00:02:02 have friends that use other apps for their physical
00:02:02 --> 00:02:06 media collecting. I know a big popular one, CLZ
00:02:06 --> 00:02:10 Movies. Movie Buddy Plus is another. And those
00:02:10 --> 00:02:13 are big popular apps. The problem is that for
00:02:13 --> 00:02:19 me, their user interface, they weren't pretty.
00:02:20 --> 00:02:22 I just looked at it and I was like, it just looks
00:02:22 --> 00:02:25 so plain and boring. And I was like, dude, it's
00:02:25 --> 00:02:29 2026. I mean, we have... So many elegant different
00:02:29 --> 00:02:32 software and features and devices. Why not match
00:02:32 --> 00:02:35 that? So I kind of just sat there throughout
00:02:35 --> 00:02:38 the year and I said, how can I tackle this? I
00:02:38 --> 00:02:41 did a ton of research, pretty much figured out
00:02:41 --> 00:02:43 what I needed. I already come from experience
00:02:43 --> 00:02:46 in IT. I've worked over 12 years dealing with
00:02:46 --> 00:02:48 making websites. I'm a web developer by trade,
00:02:48 --> 00:02:51 working on apps, managing apps in the app store.
00:02:51 --> 00:02:53 So it came pretty natural. And I said, you know
00:02:53 --> 00:02:55 what? let me just start building it got some
00:02:55 --> 00:02:58 feedback from some friends in the community on
00:02:58 --> 00:03:00 some ideas like what features you would want
00:03:00 --> 00:03:03 to see on there and just started going and i
00:03:03 --> 00:03:05 said you know what even if it's not perfect i'm
00:03:05 --> 00:03:07 going to put it out there and start building
00:03:07 --> 00:03:10 on it because if not i'm never going to push
00:03:10 --> 00:03:12 it it's never going to be perfect perfect and
00:03:12 --> 00:03:15 it's been a month now man it's been months since
00:03:15 --> 00:03:18 it's live i'm almost at five star reviews on
00:03:18 --> 00:03:21 the apple store so far it's been hearing great
00:03:21 --> 00:03:24 feedback every week or so i've been pushing out
00:03:24 --> 00:03:27 new updates so just trying to kind of make this
00:03:27 --> 00:03:30 app as best as possible and as affordable as
00:03:30 --> 00:03:32 possible too because i think it's the most affordable
00:03:32 --> 00:03:34 physical media collecting app out there on the
00:03:34 --> 00:03:37 market yeah i started one and i think it was
00:03:37 --> 00:03:40 the one that you mentioned and it was just so
00:03:40 --> 00:03:42 weird because like you know how you can choose
00:03:42 --> 00:03:46 your cover sometimes But that one, every time
00:03:46 --> 00:03:48 I scan a different edition, because like I do
00:03:48 --> 00:03:50 have, like I've said before, I have multiple
00:03:50 --> 00:03:53 editions, like Scream and stuff like that. And
00:03:53 --> 00:03:56 it kept going back to the same one. And especially
00:03:56 --> 00:03:58 like the international editions that I have,
00:03:59 --> 00:04:02 they started giving me the same generic cover
00:04:02 --> 00:04:05 from the US. And I'm like, no, what's the whole
00:04:05 --> 00:04:08 point? of you promoting it as you can put different
00:04:08 --> 00:04:10 covers and stuff like that i was going like crazy
00:04:10 --> 00:04:12 scanning through all the criterions and then
00:04:12 --> 00:04:15 when i noticed like halfway through half of them
00:04:15 --> 00:04:17 were not going through and i was like wait did
00:04:17 --> 00:04:20 i just get like a hundred movies and then i just
00:04:20 --> 00:04:22 only like reflected like 10 i was like fuck this
00:04:22 --> 00:04:26 i'm out like i told you just now before we started
00:04:26 --> 00:04:28 recording i don't have a lot of patience and
00:04:28 --> 00:04:31 it wasn't user friendly for example like if i
00:04:31 --> 00:04:35 search a movie and i added it as an i own it
00:04:35 --> 00:04:38 or i want it it just created so many lists on
00:04:38 --> 00:04:41 the side that i couldn't really track what was
00:04:41 --> 00:04:44 what and then the ones that i wanted were also
00:04:44 --> 00:04:46 reflecting in the own it i was like i didn't
00:04:46 --> 00:04:48 put this as own it like i just put it as want
00:04:48 --> 00:04:50 it i just got out of it but i don't remember
00:04:50 --> 00:04:53 the name of the app it was okay i feel like yours
00:04:53 --> 00:04:56 is a little bit more cleaner also it has like
00:04:56 --> 00:04:58 a little resemblance maybe because that's why
00:04:58 --> 00:05:01 it was easier i guess to use because It had a
00:05:01 --> 00:05:05 little resemblance of like when you go into Letterboxd,
00:05:05 --> 00:05:08 like that kind of layout that is easier to read.
00:05:08 --> 00:05:09 I have to go through it because I have a lot
00:05:09 --> 00:05:12 of stuff that I want to try to scan. So, but
00:05:12 --> 00:05:14 I haven't had time to, like I said, I have messes
00:05:14 --> 00:05:17 of piles everywhere. That's why I need, you know,
00:05:17 --> 00:05:20 to track that, especially books. Like I have
00:05:20 --> 00:05:22 thousands of books. So I'm like, you know, I
00:05:22 --> 00:05:25 would need at least a premium membership or at
00:05:25 --> 00:05:28 least somebody to go through them. Yeah. And
00:05:28 --> 00:05:29 it's funny. I like that you bring up Letterboxd
00:05:29 --> 00:05:32 because. That's something that I've looked at
00:05:32 --> 00:05:34 inspiration. I've looked at apps that I enjoy
00:05:34 --> 00:05:38 using. And for me as a developer and a designer,
00:05:38 --> 00:05:41 I think to myself, this has to have, it's like
00:05:41 --> 00:05:43 the old story with Steve Jobs, right? When he
00:05:43 --> 00:05:46 first started with devices with the iPhone and
00:05:46 --> 00:05:48 all that, one thing that was big for him with
00:05:48 --> 00:05:51 the design was it shouldn't be just another device
00:05:51 --> 00:05:54 in your hand. It should be an extension of you.
00:05:54 --> 00:05:57 It should be natural and easy to use for somebody
00:05:57 --> 00:05:59 that's never picked it up. You could easily pick
00:05:59 --> 00:06:01 it up and use it. And that's what I wanted to
00:06:01 --> 00:06:04 make for this app. I wanted to add like a billion
00:06:04 --> 00:06:07 different features, but make it very simple that
00:06:07 --> 00:06:11 even for someone that's not tech savvy to somebody
00:06:11 --> 00:06:14 that's a power user could go in there and just
00:06:14 --> 00:06:17 be able to instinctually add these movies, especially
00:06:17 --> 00:06:19 in your case, right? Or a lot of us, we have
00:06:19 --> 00:06:22 a lot of different formats for the same movie.
00:06:22 --> 00:06:24 We'll have it on VHS, we'll have it on DVD and
00:06:24 --> 00:06:27 so on. So for me, it was important to, instead
00:06:27 --> 00:06:29 of you having them like taking up your grid,
00:06:30 --> 00:06:32 on the app it's showing up all like a whole row
00:06:32 --> 00:06:35 of scream you can just tap on scream and then
00:06:35 --> 00:06:39 it shows them listed in each category and from
00:06:39 --> 00:06:41 where it's from how much you paid where you got
00:06:41 --> 00:06:45 it from the different image if it's a vhs it
00:06:45 --> 00:06:48 has that cover and i just wanted it to be as
00:06:48 --> 00:06:51 detailed as possible because in the end of the
00:06:51 --> 00:06:54 day collectors they're not just buying stuff
00:06:54 --> 00:06:55 just to buy it like we collect things because
00:06:55 --> 00:06:57 we care about them and we want to keep track
00:06:57 --> 00:06:59 of them and We just sometimes just enjoy looking
00:06:59 --> 00:07:03 at it. I know people who keep an Excel sheet.
00:07:03 --> 00:07:06 I lie in my resume that I know how to use Excel
00:07:06 --> 00:07:09 because we all have to. I never once used Excel
00:07:09 --> 00:07:11 in a job that asked me, do you know how to use
00:07:11 --> 00:07:14 Excel? Hell, I happen to use Microsoft. Like,
00:07:14 --> 00:07:16 are you familiar with Microsoft? Yes, bitch.
00:07:16 --> 00:07:18 I took a class in high school. Like I know I'm
00:07:18 --> 00:07:21 Windows 95. And it's probably also harder to
00:07:21 --> 00:07:23 track that way with an app like that is obviously
00:07:23 --> 00:07:26 much easier because you can search and it's better
00:07:26 --> 00:07:30 to at least have. also the cover because last
00:07:30 --> 00:07:34 night before i went to bed i was thinking i was
00:07:34 --> 00:07:37 like did i buy conclave with the red cover like
00:07:37 --> 00:07:41 i know it's a random thought but i was laying
00:07:41 --> 00:07:44 down and my vix fell off and i was like when
00:07:44 --> 00:07:47 i bent over i saw that the book i know it's a
00:07:47 --> 00:07:49 stupid ass story but this is the kind of stuff
00:07:49 --> 00:07:52 these apps are meant for because if i had it
00:07:52 --> 00:07:57 on my phone upsell this is the best upsell ad
00:07:57 --> 00:07:59 you could actually take this out if you ever
00:07:59 --> 00:08:02 find yourself in the middle of the night wondering
00:08:02 --> 00:08:05 if you have conclave if you drop your vix in
00:08:05 --> 00:08:07 the middle of the night and you you know bump
00:08:07 --> 00:08:10 into your book of conclave and wonder if you
00:08:10 --> 00:08:12 had the red version because i really do want
00:08:12 --> 00:08:15 that red cover and i don't think i have it let
00:08:15 --> 00:08:19 me let me just jesus christ i don't have the
00:08:19 --> 00:08:21 red cover see this is why we need that app Because
00:08:21 --> 00:08:23 right now I could have just saved myself and
00:08:23 --> 00:08:25 extended my hand to the tower there and finding
00:08:25 --> 00:08:28 the conclave cover that I don't have. Do you
00:08:28 --> 00:08:30 want better? Like, you know how you travel a
00:08:30 --> 00:08:33 lot. You're an international man. And let's say
00:08:33 --> 00:08:34 you go into one of these physical... Is that
00:08:34 --> 00:08:41 a cool word for a hoe? Mr. Worldwide. But let's
00:08:41 --> 00:08:42 say you find yourself in... Let's say you're
00:08:42 --> 00:08:44 like in France or Barcelona and you go into a
00:08:44 --> 00:08:49 little movie bookstore and... you forgot right
00:08:49 --> 00:08:51 you don't have your excel sheet with you and
00:08:51 --> 00:08:53 you forgot you're like do i own this cover you
00:08:53 --> 00:08:56 open up capcase you scan the barcode or you check
00:08:56 --> 00:08:58 on there and it's gonna tell you it's gonna say
00:08:58 --> 00:09:02 hey you own the blu -ray but you don't own the
00:09:02 --> 00:09:05 4k so it's good upgrade or you have this cover
00:09:05 --> 00:09:07 ready and it takes you two seconds you don't
00:09:07 --> 00:09:10 have to double dip and and you're good to go
00:09:10 --> 00:09:13 i mean i do it all the time man like all the
00:09:13 --> 00:09:15 time every time i go to the thrift store They
00:09:15 --> 00:09:17 always have the same soundtracks in every thrift
00:09:17 --> 00:09:19 store. They have the same movies. So I have to
00:09:19 --> 00:09:22 make sure I'm like, did I buy this already? And
00:09:22 --> 00:09:25 yeah, it always saves my ass. One of the first
00:09:25 --> 00:09:27 trips, I think it was to London or something
00:09:27 --> 00:09:30 like that. I went through BFI's catalog over
00:09:30 --> 00:09:32 there and I was like, oh, you know, the Yooks
00:09:32 --> 00:09:34 Sounds Visage. I'm like, that movie sounds interesting.
00:09:34 --> 00:09:38 I get home. Dude, it's the eyes without a face.
00:09:38 --> 00:09:40 I fucking hate this movie. So I'm like, if I'm
00:09:40 --> 00:09:42 going to hate it, at least I'm going to keep
00:09:42 --> 00:09:45 the one that I hate the least. So I kept the
00:09:45 --> 00:09:48 one, the BFI one. I gave away the Criterion.
00:09:48 --> 00:09:50 But that would have been helpful because obviously
00:09:50 --> 00:09:52 like when you scan it, it's going to give you
00:09:52 --> 00:09:55 the BFI version with the English title. But you
00:09:55 --> 00:09:56 know, that's first world problems, you know.
00:09:56 --> 00:10:00 But an app like this does solve first world problems.
00:10:00 --> 00:10:04 There you go, man. What else are you planning
00:10:04 --> 00:10:08 to incorporate into the app going forward? oh
00:10:08 --> 00:10:10 my god there's so much man i've been i've been
00:10:10 --> 00:10:15 working on getting boutique labels in and it's
00:10:15 --> 00:10:18 been it's been interesting because so far for
00:10:18 --> 00:10:20 a few of them i've gotten like a ton of support
00:10:20 --> 00:10:25 and for some i haven't heard back yet but initially
00:10:25 --> 00:10:26 what i'm trying to do because so none of the
00:10:26 --> 00:10:29 apps right like clz and none of the other apps
00:10:29 --> 00:10:33 they actually have the databases for example
00:10:33 --> 00:10:36 from like vinegar syndrome or places like that
00:10:36 --> 00:10:39 They have, like, I know CLZ has their own proprietary
00:10:39 --> 00:10:42 database that they've built over the years. And
00:10:42 --> 00:10:45 the way they were able to build it was from contribution
00:10:45 --> 00:10:48 from users. So somebody comes in, they upload
00:10:48 --> 00:10:51 their copy, their image, their barcode, and it
00:10:51 --> 00:10:54 gets added. And I have the same type of functionality
00:10:54 --> 00:10:57 on my end where I have my own proprietary built
00:10:57 --> 00:10:59 -in database, but I've gone a step further and
00:10:59 --> 00:11:02 I've actually reached out and accessed some of
00:11:02 --> 00:11:04 them. For example, I have Grindhouse, I have
00:11:04 --> 00:11:07 Powerhouse, Radiance, Second Sight, Severin,
00:11:07 --> 00:11:11 Synapse, Umbrella, Vinegar Syndrome, 101 Films,
00:11:11 --> 00:11:15 88 Films, Def Crocodile. See, these film labels,
00:11:15 --> 00:11:17 I already have them incorporated in my database
00:11:17 --> 00:11:21 and pulling their data in real time. So let's
00:11:21 --> 00:11:23 say today, Vinegar Syndrome, let's say today
00:11:23 --> 00:11:27 they say, oh, this is our new lineup. If it's
00:11:27 --> 00:11:29 already on their website, when you go on Kepcase
00:11:29 --> 00:11:32 and let's say you already pre -ordered it, and
00:11:32 --> 00:11:35 you have a tracking number there's a feature
00:11:35 --> 00:11:36 in there where you could put in the tracking
00:11:36 --> 00:11:39 number and you put in the title and you're able
00:11:39 --> 00:11:41 to search for it and it already shows up and
00:11:41 --> 00:11:44 it says okay here's a vinegar syndrome which
00:11:44 --> 00:11:45 version did you get the one with the slip cover
00:11:45 --> 00:11:49 did you get the like the just a plain one um
00:11:49 --> 00:11:52 and then i've also been working on adding like
00:11:52 --> 00:11:54 record labels right like for example some of
00:11:54 --> 00:11:58 the big ones is like rhino mondo they have waxworks
00:11:58 --> 00:12:02 they have some sick you know vinyl releases And
00:12:02 --> 00:12:05 I've been able to add them on here as well. But
00:12:05 --> 00:12:07 so far I have over like 25 different labels.
00:12:08 --> 00:12:13 I have over 16 different releases that have
00:12:13 --> 00:12:17 been added among the ones that users have been
00:12:17 --> 00:12:20 uploading as well. So it's just a little bit
00:12:20 --> 00:12:24 of that. I've been incorporating, I added a new,
00:12:24 --> 00:12:27 like a game on there, kind of like a trivia game
00:12:27 --> 00:12:29 for collectors to see how well you know your
00:12:29 --> 00:12:32 show. You saw that, right? Yeah. I think I saw
00:12:32 --> 00:12:34 that because I'm like, I remember something interactive
00:12:34 --> 00:12:37 that was there. And I don't know if it was that
00:12:37 --> 00:12:39 you posted it or if I saw it on the app when
00:12:39 --> 00:12:41 I was going through. Well, it might be both.
00:12:41 --> 00:12:43 But if you were on there, yeah, you might have
00:12:43 --> 00:12:45 seen it because I did post about it as well.
00:12:47 --> 00:12:49 But dude, there's so much, man. There's so much
00:12:49 --> 00:12:52 that I've already incorporated and that's in
00:12:52 --> 00:12:54 the works. I mean, even as far as for being able
00:12:54 --> 00:12:56 to share your shelf, I recently incorporated
00:12:56 --> 00:12:58 a feature where let's say you're trying to sell
00:12:58 --> 00:13:01 a title. are you like in your situation you had
00:13:01 --> 00:13:02 a duplicate and you're like you know what i'm
00:13:02 --> 00:13:05 gonna sell it you could mark it as you want to
00:13:05 --> 00:13:08 sell it on the app so for people that you've
00:13:08 --> 00:13:10 shared like in this in your platform right here
00:13:10 --> 00:13:13 for example you could share your shelf to your
00:13:13 --> 00:13:15 to your listeners so they could go on and kind
00:13:15 --> 00:13:17 of see your collection and browse through it
00:13:17 --> 00:13:21 and see what you have and then on the web when
00:13:21 --> 00:13:22 they go to that link there's going to be a tab
00:13:22 --> 00:13:25 that says for sale And they're able to see, okay,
00:13:25 --> 00:13:28 he's selling these movies for this price. And
00:13:28 --> 00:13:29 then they could just reach out to you and be
00:13:29 --> 00:13:31 like, hey, I'm interested in buying it. And then
00:13:31 --> 00:13:36 there you go. So it's been a little bit of everything.
00:13:36 --> 00:13:38 I've just been trying to squeeze in. And I still
00:13:38 --> 00:13:41 have some other features and little fixes and
00:13:41 --> 00:13:43 upgrades and stuff like that that I'm working
00:13:43 --> 00:13:46 on. But little by little, just chipping away
00:13:46 --> 00:13:48 every week or every two weeks, trying to put
00:13:48 --> 00:13:51 something out to improve the experience for everybody.
00:13:52 --> 00:13:55 themes i put out a halloween one with which a
00:13:55 --> 00:13:58 lot of people seem to enjoy that i got a few
00:13:58 --> 00:14:00 emails saying dude this is like i love this this
00:14:00 --> 00:14:04 is awesome and trying to make it your own for
00:14:04 --> 00:14:07 everybody customize it and that's a good way
00:14:07 --> 00:14:10 to start too like if you keep adding these little
00:14:10 --> 00:14:13 details where people can interact with each other
00:14:13 --> 00:14:16 and purchase or contact each other i feel like
00:14:16 --> 00:14:18 that would be pretty helpful in the long run
00:14:18 --> 00:14:23 yeah no i do and i i have I've already had the
00:14:23 --> 00:14:25 idea from when I first started the app. I had
00:14:25 --> 00:14:28 the idea of making this for the community where
00:14:28 --> 00:14:31 eventually, like right now you could follow somebody's
00:14:31 --> 00:14:34 shelf, right? But eventually, and I would want
00:14:34 --> 00:14:37 to incorporate the ability for someone to be
00:14:37 --> 00:14:40 able to communicate with one another through
00:14:40 --> 00:14:42 the app. The reason I haven't done something
00:14:42 --> 00:14:44 like that yet is because I'm still working on
00:14:44 --> 00:14:49 making it as safe as possible. And again, avoiding,
00:14:49 --> 00:14:52 like you said, bots. and hackers and all that
00:14:52 --> 00:14:53 stuff. Because the thing is with Apple too, is
00:14:53 --> 00:14:56 that with Apple, besides being an Apple user,
00:14:56 --> 00:14:59 the first platform I went with, because a lot
00:14:59 --> 00:15:01 of people said, why don't you do Android? And
00:15:01 --> 00:15:03 it's like, well, I wanted to do Apple first because
00:15:03 --> 00:15:07 they have a lot that I like. For example, this
00:15:07 --> 00:15:10 app, whatever you do on this app, it's yours.
00:15:10 --> 00:15:14 Like your data is not being sold. Whatever's
00:15:14 --> 00:15:17 being collected is... It's being approved by
00:15:17 --> 00:15:19 you. So if you upload something, you want to
00:15:19 --> 00:15:21 share it to the database, you can. There's never
00:15:21 --> 00:15:24 ads on here. Like if you decide to unsubscribe
00:15:24 --> 00:15:27 from the app, your collection stays there. The
00:15:27 --> 00:15:30 only functionality you lose are the extra features
00:15:30 --> 00:15:32 or adding to the collection. But whatever you
00:15:32 --> 00:15:34 added on there while you had the subscription
00:15:34 --> 00:15:38 stays there. So you can still browse it. I incorporated
00:15:38 --> 00:15:42 AI inside the app, which is Apple Intelligence.
00:15:44 --> 00:15:47 So you have a smart shelf. So you could go on
00:15:47 --> 00:15:48 there real quick and say, hey, how many Nick
00:15:48 --> 00:15:50 Cage movies do I have that I haven't seen yet?
00:15:51 --> 00:15:53 And it's going to show you on there the titles
00:15:53 --> 00:15:56 that you own that you haven't seen. So I wanted
00:15:56 --> 00:15:59 the shelf to be smart and to work for you. However,
00:16:00 --> 00:16:03 that's all local on your phone. So that's not
00:16:03 --> 00:16:05 going to some cloud. Your data is not being used
00:16:05 --> 00:16:09 to teach AI or nothing. And that's what my main
00:16:09 --> 00:16:13 focus was, making this app as locked in. as local
00:16:13 --> 00:16:16 and safe as possible the goal would be eventually
00:16:16 --> 00:16:19 to be able to make it so we could go on there
00:16:19 --> 00:16:21 and communicate be like hey we could plan like
00:16:21 --> 00:16:23 a movie night and be like dude do you want to
00:16:23 --> 00:16:25 watch do you want to sync up and watch this movie
00:16:25 --> 00:16:28 at the same time and do an episode like this
00:16:28 --> 00:16:30 like sure and then we go on there and chat and
00:16:30 --> 00:16:32 stuff or in real time or watching the movie be
00:16:32 --> 00:16:35 like dude well you know did you see this it's
00:16:35 --> 00:16:36 like yeah i just saw that and this and that but
00:16:36 --> 00:16:39 that's the goal just figuring it out But something
00:16:39 --> 00:16:41 I'm excited for, and there's just so many endless
00:16:41 --> 00:16:45 possibilities, man. There's so much. That's the
00:16:45 --> 00:16:46 thing. Sometimes you got to be careful, like
00:16:46 --> 00:16:50 for us as creators, sometimes like we want to
00:16:50 --> 00:16:52 keep adding on because the creativity just keeps
00:16:52 --> 00:16:54 on coming. At one point you're like, okay, stop.
00:16:54 --> 00:16:57 You got to stop and be like, okay, this is what's
00:16:57 --> 00:16:59 working. But JC, let them know where they can
00:16:59 --> 00:17:02 check out the app because I know you have it
00:17:02 --> 00:17:05 here on your video, which is Kept Case on Instagram.
00:17:06 --> 00:17:08 Yeah. But if you have a website or anything for
00:17:08 --> 00:17:12 the app. Yeah. So if you're interested in finding
00:17:12 --> 00:17:16 out more information, just go to keptcase .app.
00:17:16 --> 00:17:21 So it's K -E -P -T -C -A -S -E .app. And you
00:17:21 --> 00:17:24 could also look it up in the Apple App Store.
00:17:24 --> 00:17:26 I am working on an Android version. I don't have
00:17:26 --> 00:17:29 a definitive date yet. My goal was to get it
00:17:29 --> 00:17:32 out this year. And it's still the goal if you
00:17:32 --> 00:17:35 don't have an iPhone, right? you're an android
00:17:35 --> 00:17:38 user but you still have an ipad or you have a
00:17:38 --> 00:17:41 macbook or any apple computer you could still
00:17:41 --> 00:17:44 use the app i have an a dedicated ipad version
00:17:44 --> 00:17:47 and it's the same version for a mac computer
00:17:47 --> 00:17:50 so you can still download it use it so you won't
00:17:50 --> 00:17:52 be left out and then once an android version
00:17:52 --> 00:17:56 is out you'll be able to synchronize it so everything
00:17:56 --> 00:17:59 will move over very swiftly Same thing goes for
00:17:59 --> 00:18:01 phones and iPad and all that. Wherever you save
00:18:01 --> 00:18:04 on one device, it automatically transfers to
00:18:04 --> 00:18:06 the other as well. So you don't have to do anything.
00:18:06 --> 00:18:10 But besides that, Instagram, Capcase. And then
00:18:10 --> 00:18:12 you could also check me out at Face the Movies
00:18:12 --> 00:18:16 on Instagram and YouTube. That's for my YouTube
00:18:16 --> 00:18:18 channel and for my videos and stuff. And last
00:18:18 --> 00:18:21 but not least, I guess since we're plugging everything
00:18:21 --> 00:18:24 under the sun, I do got a podcast called Friday
00:18:24 --> 00:18:27 Night Fright Night. You could find it on Spotify
00:18:27 --> 00:18:29 and Apple Podcast. Awesome. I was going to, because
00:18:29 --> 00:18:32 I had you here because one, I wanted to do some
00:18:32 --> 00:18:37 spooky episodes during October. And I had reached
00:18:37 --> 00:18:40 out to you because I know you host the Friday
00:18:40 --> 00:18:43 Night Fright Night. Obviously, I'm a big fan
00:18:43 --> 00:18:45 of the movie Fright Night and that's like a big
00:18:45 --> 00:18:47 Halloween. This year, I don't know if I'm going
00:18:47 --> 00:18:49 to be watching it this year. I usually watch
00:18:49 --> 00:18:51 it every year. But this year, I'm kind of trying
00:18:51 --> 00:18:54 to do 13 days of Halloween instead of the 31.
00:18:54 --> 00:19:00 Yeah. And I'm like, I kind of felt a little nostalgia
00:19:00 --> 00:19:03 for the ABC Family times, you know, when you
00:19:03 --> 00:19:06 had, you know, 13 days of Halloween, all that
00:19:06 --> 00:19:09 kind of stuff. And the Triska Deska phobia, kind
00:19:09 --> 00:19:11 of fear the number 13. I'm like, damn, I got
00:19:11 --> 00:19:15 to bring that shit back. But I wanted to ask
00:19:15 --> 00:19:16 you, because I know you have the podcast and
00:19:16 --> 00:19:18 you're going to be doing the episode on the Cube
00:19:18 --> 00:19:21 soon, which I've been thinking about either getting
00:19:21 --> 00:19:23 that because I got to do an order for Umbrella.
00:19:25 --> 00:19:29 I'm $30 away from free tripping. Oh, there we
00:19:29 --> 00:19:32 go. Well, it's just because two titles are Nolan
00:19:32 --> 00:19:34 titles and I'm going for the big ones. And I'll
00:19:34 --> 00:19:36 say, should I order the cube? So I'll probably
00:19:36 --> 00:19:38 wait till Friday. If you're listening to this
00:19:38 --> 00:19:40 episode, it's probably going to be out by then.
00:19:41 --> 00:19:43 So I'll probably try to check it out on Friday,
00:19:43 --> 00:19:45 the episode of the cube, because I need to know
00:19:45 --> 00:19:47 if I should order it or not. It's between that
00:19:47 --> 00:19:51 or I saw the devil. So it's between those two.
00:19:51 --> 00:19:53 Probably by the time this episode is out, I already
00:19:53 --> 00:19:54 made the order. So whoever's going to comment,
00:19:54 --> 00:19:59 don't buy this one. Sorry. I really got to get
00:19:59 --> 00:20:02 onto Memento because I'm a large size and you
00:20:02 --> 00:20:04 know that shit sells out quick. But what do you
00:20:04 --> 00:20:07 have planned for Halloween for Fright Night?
00:20:08 --> 00:20:12 Man, nothing too crazy yet. I've still trying
00:20:12 --> 00:20:15 to get back into the swing of things because
00:20:15 --> 00:20:18 we haven't recorded an episode in, I feel like
00:20:18 --> 00:20:20 it's been a... quite a while now yeah you guys
00:20:20 --> 00:20:22 have been missing because i know y 'all always
00:20:22 --> 00:20:25 popping up on my tv yeah man it's been a while
00:20:25 --> 00:20:27 even on my youtube i haven't really been able
00:20:27 --> 00:20:29 to put out a video so we have this one coming
00:20:29 --> 00:20:32 out this friday and then hopefully next week
00:20:32 --> 00:20:35 record something put that out and as far as for
00:20:35 --> 00:20:37 the 13 days of halloween because i wanted to
00:20:37 --> 00:20:39 touch on that dude it's funny that you you brought
00:20:39 --> 00:20:42 that up with the abc the fox family thing yeah
00:20:42 --> 00:20:46 because i i can't do 31 days of halloween like
00:20:46 --> 00:20:48 i did last year with jordan from the movie den
00:20:48 --> 00:20:52 where every single we did a whole week every
00:20:52 --> 00:20:55 single day live streaming talking about one of
00:20:55 --> 00:20:57 the halloween movies from the franchise and dude
00:20:57 --> 00:21:00 i was so burned out after every single day live
00:21:00 --> 00:21:03 streaming and recording every single day that
00:21:03 --> 00:21:05 i took i think like a good like few weeks off
00:21:05 --> 00:21:08 because man so now this year i was like you know
00:21:08 --> 00:21:10 what i'm not making the same mistake i think
00:21:10 --> 00:21:14 13 days is perfect amount of halloween for me
00:21:14 --> 00:21:18 because i love it's my favorite holiday but i
00:21:18 --> 00:21:20 don't know man the earlier we start celebrating
00:21:20 --> 00:21:22 it the longer it drags and i'm like man it's
00:21:22 --> 00:21:25 been halloween for like two months now no for
00:21:25 --> 00:21:28 i see these people with stacks of like 31 movies
00:21:28 --> 00:21:32 i'm like i have a job yeah i'm pretty sure they
00:21:32 --> 00:21:34 have a job too but i'm like i don't know i don't
00:21:34 --> 00:21:38 know i haven't been watched like probably two
00:21:38 --> 00:21:41 or three in the last week i'm like let alone
00:21:41 --> 00:21:43 try to get to 31 unless you're just like sitting
00:21:43 --> 00:21:46 and benching on your days off which I'm not going
00:21:46 --> 00:21:50 to do. I got shit to do on my days off. I think
00:21:50 --> 00:21:53 the sweet spot for me is like 13 days because
00:21:53 --> 00:21:57 at least I already saw two of them. Obviously,
00:21:57 --> 00:21:59 Interview with a Vampire wasn't on the list,
00:21:59 --> 00:22:01 but I just added it because I got the 4K that
00:22:01 --> 00:22:05 came out recently. It looked good. I thought
00:22:05 --> 00:22:07 it was going to look better, but it looked good.
00:22:08 --> 00:22:12 And then I just watched again Night of the Demons.
00:22:13 --> 00:22:15 Because I was like, I saw that one on the day
00:22:15 --> 00:22:17 that October started. And I was like, let me
00:22:17 --> 00:22:20 just start the party with this one. Because,
00:22:20 --> 00:22:23 you know, I'm kind of going back to some older
00:22:23 --> 00:22:28 ones that I knew of. But I didn't really give
00:22:28 --> 00:22:31 too much of a chance. Obviously, Night of the
00:22:31 --> 00:22:33 Demons, as a kid, has kind of scared the shit
00:22:33 --> 00:22:35 out of me. Now I watch it, I was like, yeah,
00:22:35 --> 00:22:36 you're just like the exorcist. Once you watch
00:22:36 --> 00:22:39 it as an adult, you're like, eh, fuck off. It
00:22:39 --> 00:22:42 doesn't really scare you anymore. I started with
00:22:42 --> 00:22:47 that one. I have a few others I mentioned, and
00:22:47 --> 00:22:48 we're probably going to get to that later, that
00:22:48 --> 00:22:52 I got the retro box set from the 80s. So I'll
00:22:52 --> 00:22:55 probably go through those as well. But I want
00:22:55 --> 00:22:56 to ask you a question, not just when it comes
00:22:56 --> 00:22:58 to the podcast, but when it comes to you, obviously
00:22:58 --> 00:23:01 you also dedicate a lot of your time to horror.
00:23:01 --> 00:23:04 What classic monster, because I want to start.
00:23:04 --> 00:23:06 the conversation a little bit with the classics
00:23:06 --> 00:23:09 i was going to touch on hammer but you and i
00:23:09 --> 00:23:12 were not hammer hammer hammer steiner so whatever
00:23:12 --> 00:23:14 you want to call them so i was like let me just
00:23:14 --> 00:23:16 leave that conversation for someone else because
00:23:16 --> 00:23:20 i do like hammer movies but my knowledge on hammer
00:23:20 --> 00:23:23 is like the little box collection that i have
00:23:23 --> 00:23:26 that it's like six films and i would say out
00:23:26 --> 00:23:29 of i think it's eight or seven of them most of
00:23:29 --> 00:23:32 them are good maybe one is like a dud But most
00:23:32 --> 00:23:35 of them are good. And I was like, I went to the
00:23:35 --> 00:23:38 box set. They're pretty good. But I'm like, this
00:23:38 --> 00:23:41 is not something that I kind of know about too
00:23:41 --> 00:23:44 much. And I'm like, I sort of listened to a Hammer
00:23:44 --> 00:23:48 podcast. And the guy is very knowledgeable. There's
00:23:48 --> 00:23:50 two hosts and the gentleman who does the podcast,
00:23:51 --> 00:23:53 he's very knowledgeable. He's like an encyclopedia
00:23:53 --> 00:23:57 of Hammer. And he even has like behind the scenes
00:23:57 --> 00:24:00 stories and all that kind of stuff. And, you
00:24:00 --> 00:24:03 know, when I... when i jot it down oh let's talk
00:24:03 --> 00:24:05 about hammer and then you're like oh i don't
00:24:05 --> 00:24:07 know much about him i was like yeah i mean either
00:24:07 --> 00:24:09 so let's just scratch that out because that's
00:24:09 --> 00:24:11 a it's not that i don't know it's just like the
00:24:11 --> 00:24:13 story behind it it's like it's a whole studio
00:24:13 --> 00:24:15 like hammer is basically a whole studio so i'm
00:24:15 --> 00:24:19 like yeah i don't want to go that deep but at
00:24:19 --> 00:24:21 least what classic monster because i do love
00:24:21 --> 00:24:24 the universal monsters and i think universal
00:24:24 --> 00:24:29 studios in a way still I would say, I know maybe
00:24:29 --> 00:24:31 some people won't agree with me, still does have
00:24:31 --> 00:24:33 a lot of good horror every now and then. You
00:24:33 --> 00:24:36 know, they're kind of probably like, every time
00:24:36 --> 00:24:39 I hear Universal, I associate it with horror
00:24:39 --> 00:24:43 just because obviously the Halloween horror nights
00:24:43 --> 00:24:46 and the classic monsters. And I do love going
00:24:46 --> 00:24:48 to Universal and just going to those horror stores
00:24:48 --> 00:24:50 that they have. And I was like, oh, I could live
00:24:50 --> 00:24:52 here because they're so cozy. They're horror,
00:24:53 --> 00:24:56 but they're so cozy. So I feel like nobody else
00:24:56 --> 00:24:59 does. horror the way universal does you know
00:24:59 --> 00:25:01 i will say that the only thing that's not cozy
00:25:01 --> 00:25:05 is their prices because oh yeah well try disney
00:25:05 --> 00:25:08 i've actually never been to disney at all but
00:25:08 --> 00:25:12 as far as for a classic monster man so it's hard
00:25:12 --> 00:25:16 to answer because i growing up i i grew up with
00:25:16 --> 00:25:21 like 80s horror 90s horror and i wasn't too exposed
00:25:21 --> 00:25:23 to the classic monsters i think the most i was
00:25:23 --> 00:25:27 exposed to was like maybe frankenstein And that
00:25:27 --> 00:25:31 was pretty much it. Even on TV, they would never
00:25:31 --> 00:25:33 really be playing anything. The most black and
00:25:33 --> 00:25:37 white type old school so -called horror would
00:25:37 --> 00:25:38 be like The Monsters. I don't know if you remember
00:25:38 --> 00:25:41 that show. Oh, yeah. I love The Monsters. Dude,
00:25:41 --> 00:25:43 yeah. I love The Monsters. That would come up
00:25:43 --> 00:25:46 in the middle of the night. But I will say that
00:25:46 --> 00:25:48 just recently I started trying to re -watch them.
00:25:48 --> 00:25:50 When I re -watched them, I guess I watched them
00:25:50 --> 00:25:53 for the first time. And I started watching The
00:25:53 --> 00:25:56 Mummy, the original Mummy. And man, one thing
00:25:56 --> 00:25:59 I noticed was definitely really enjoyed the acting.
00:25:59 --> 00:26:01 I didn't get to finish it because that day I
00:26:01 --> 00:26:03 was just exhausted. So I got halfway through
00:26:03 --> 00:26:07 the film. But from what I saw so far, I was like,
00:26:07 --> 00:26:09 man, this is different. Obviously, you could
00:26:09 --> 00:26:13 tell it's a completely different era. But there
00:26:13 --> 00:26:15 was something about the storytelling, the acting.
00:26:15 --> 00:26:19 It was so much more serious. You could tell they
00:26:19 --> 00:26:22 took so much more pride into it. It wasn't so
00:26:22 --> 00:26:25 much about being... famous and this and that
00:26:25 --> 00:26:27 it was just it was their craft and what they
00:26:27 --> 00:26:30 enjoyed and i could sense that just from watching
00:26:30 --> 00:26:33 like an old school movie like that but i'm looking
00:26:33 --> 00:26:34 forward to re -watching them and then maybe one
00:26:34 --> 00:26:36 of these days we'll do a follow -up man and we'll
00:26:36 --> 00:26:39 be able to actually do more of a deep dive and
00:26:39 --> 00:26:42 talk about yeah i have the original ones i have
00:26:42 --> 00:26:45 the the big universal monsters so that's like
00:26:45 --> 00:26:48 a big book so i got that of the universal monsters
00:26:48 --> 00:26:50 it's pretty nice i've spoken before about the
00:26:52 --> 00:26:55 I do love the sets. I do love the acting. And
00:26:55 --> 00:26:58 the mummy, even though it's not one of my favorites,
00:26:58 --> 00:27:00 the original mummy is not one of my favorites.
00:27:00 --> 00:27:02 I do still love the acting in that movie. Like
00:27:02 --> 00:27:07 the invisible man, it starts out very funny and
00:27:07 --> 00:27:10 it kind of just dies down. that one i do like
00:27:10 --> 00:27:13 but i like like the first i would say like 30
00:27:13 --> 00:27:15 minutes of the movie then after that it just
00:27:15 --> 00:27:19 kind of repetitive and it doesn't feel as funny
00:27:19 --> 00:27:20 but i think it's because they did too many too
00:27:20 --> 00:27:24 many physical jokes at the beginning too many
00:27:24 --> 00:27:26 like one -liners that it then after that it just
00:27:26 --> 00:27:29 kind of like dies the one that i find fun is
00:27:29 --> 00:27:33 because people that love the dracula original
00:27:33 --> 00:27:36 they're always like oh see the mexican version
00:27:36 --> 00:27:38 of it because they did them in tandem so they
00:27:38 --> 00:27:40 did them one that was recording in the morning
00:27:40 --> 00:27:43 the other one was recording at night so they
00:27:43 --> 00:27:44 were both using the same studio and everything
00:27:44 --> 00:27:47 and people were like yeah the mexican one feels
00:27:47 --> 00:27:50 like a telenovela and they're so much more dramatic
00:27:50 --> 00:27:52 Especially that scene where Dracula is coming
00:27:52 --> 00:27:55 down the stairs. The Mexican one is just giving
00:27:55 --> 00:27:58 them so much more flair and shit like that. I'm
00:27:58 --> 00:28:00 like, yeah, that's what Mexicans do. They overdo
00:28:00 --> 00:28:03 everything. They're telenovela people. So obviously
00:28:03 --> 00:28:05 they're going to give Dracula a more dramatic
00:28:05 --> 00:28:10 role. I started the Mexican version and I want
00:28:10 --> 00:28:12 to finish it. So I'll probably get through it
00:28:12 --> 00:28:17 now. The one that I haven't seen is the Universal
00:28:17 --> 00:28:21 Monsters. Phantom of the Opera. I did see, I
00:28:21 --> 00:28:24 want to say it's Hammer version of it. I might
00:28:24 --> 00:28:27 be wrong. I think it's within that box set. That's
00:28:27 --> 00:28:29 the one that I've seen. And it was pretty good.
00:28:29 --> 00:28:32 Like it was pretty good. The one in Universal
00:28:32 --> 00:28:34 Monsters, that one is a silent movie and it's
00:28:34 --> 00:28:36 probably one of the longest ones. I think it's
00:28:36 --> 00:28:39 like two hours. I don't know if I want to sit
00:28:39 --> 00:28:42 down for two hours in a silent movie. Like I'll
00:28:42 --> 00:28:45 fall asleep because it's all noise, sounds and
00:28:45 --> 00:28:48 music. So I'll probably fall asleep easily. But
00:28:48 --> 00:28:49 I still got to finish that one. I'll probably
00:28:49 --> 00:28:53 put the Phantom of the Opera in this year's Halloween
00:28:53 --> 00:28:55 list just because I want to try to get through
00:28:55 --> 00:28:57 all of them and compare that Phantom with the
00:28:57 --> 00:29:00 Phantom that I saw from which I believe was Hammer.
00:29:01 --> 00:29:03 I have Phantom of the Opera but now I got to
00:29:03 --> 00:29:05 check to see if it is because the one I have
00:29:05 --> 00:29:08 is black and white and it's also a silent film.
00:29:08 --> 00:29:10 So I got to check to see if it is a universal
00:29:10 --> 00:29:12 one or not but I remember I came across it could
00:29:12 --> 00:29:14 yeah if you're saying it's like silent like a
00:29:14 --> 00:29:17 silent one because I don't know how many they've
00:29:17 --> 00:29:20 made but I do know that I do when I found it,
00:29:20 --> 00:29:23 it was at like a used books, book and movie store
00:29:23 --> 00:29:27 that I frequent to. And they saw their Blu -rays,
00:29:27 --> 00:29:31 movies, everything's like $2 .50 for TV shows,
00:29:31 --> 00:29:33 movies, DVDs, what you name it. And I remember
00:29:33 --> 00:29:35 I came across it and I was like, oh, this looks
00:29:35 --> 00:29:37 interesting. I've never seen it. Like I've always
00:29:37 --> 00:29:40 known about it. And I watched it, really enjoyed
00:29:40 --> 00:29:42 it, man. Like I really did. Something that I've
00:29:42 --> 00:29:44 gotten into since last year was like silent films.
00:29:45 --> 00:29:49 I know the release called Vampyr. by uh i love
00:29:49 --> 00:29:52 them here by criterion dude i bought it i was
00:29:52 --> 00:29:54 so excited i remember seeing it in store and
00:29:54 --> 00:29:55 i was like damn this looks really cool i've never
00:29:55 --> 00:29:57 seen this movie love that came with the book
00:29:57 --> 00:30:00 and watched it and i was like damn like this
00:30:00 --> 00:30:03 was pretty freaking cool like it's incredible
00:30:03 --> 00:30:08 like the those movies how there's no like speech
00:30:08 --> 00:30:10 there's no like there's they convey the message
00:30:10 --> 00:30:14 perfectly yeah that's why i i'm i i it's not
00:30:14 --> 00:30:18 that i hate i just don't like the the second
00:30:18 --> 00:30:21 king kong i think it's like 1950s or something
00:30:21 --> 00:30:23 like that my my favorite one is the original
00:30:23 --> 00:30:28 uh the 1930s i love that one i actually got a
00:30:28 --> 00:30:31 new well not new but a dvd version of it recently
00:30:31 --> 00:30:34 when i went to night owl in brooklyn but the
00:30:34 --> 00:30:38 one that i also love from that era is metropolis
00:30:38 --> 00:30:41 that's one of my favorite southern films metropolis
00:30:41 --> 00:30:45 i love that film like so much was done back in
00:30:45 --> 00:30:52 that day the set designs just everything it feels
00:30:52 --> 00:30:56 it looks well I mean obviously it looks 1930s
00:30:56 --> 00:31:00 but like everything that was done back then they
00:31:00 --> 00:31:03 try to do now and it doesn't even it's like when
00:31:03 --> 00:31:05 you compare the Pirates of the Caribbean CGI
00:31:05 --> 00:31:07 with the ones that they do now that's how I feel
00:31:07 --> 00:31:11 with sci -fi movies comparing them to Metropolis
00:31:11 --> 00:31:16 like I feel like the closest film recently that
00:31:16 --> 00:31:19 tried to do something similar to metropolis was
00:31:19 --> 00:31:23 poor things and the bride so you have a lot of
00:31:23 --> 00:31:27 metropolis inspired scenes from that and i'm
00:31:27 --> 00:31:30 like even then they don't look as good to me
00:31:30 --> 00:31:33 as metropolis did obviously they look more clear
00:31:33 --> 00:31:37 and the sound is much better but oh yeah no like
00:31:37 --> 00:31:41 you still can't remake the original way you can't
00:31:41 --> 00:31:44 even copy it and and be like oh well this is
00:31:44 --> 00:31:46 well done but yeah those are probably one of
00:31:46 --> 00:31:49 my favorite silent films in general because again
00:31:49 --> 00:31:52 i like silent films but it has to be an interesting
00:31:52 --> 00:31:56 story yeah for me to be attached to it Vampyr
00:31:56 --> 00:31:59 was supposed to be pronounced vampire, but I
00:31:59 --> 00:32:02 heard a German guy say it once. And I was like,
00:32:02 --> 00:32:05 well, I guess it's Vampyr. He's German. That's
00:32:05 --> 00:32:06 what I thought too. That's what I thought too.
00:32:07 --> 00:32:09 I was like, oh, Vampyr? They're like Vampyr.
00:32:09 --> 00:32:12 I think it was in the Criterion channel. And
00:32:12 --> 00:32:14 they were like, oh, the film Vampyr. I was like,
00:32:14 --> 00:32:17 like John Carpenter's Vampyrs? And then they
00:32:17 --> 00:32:19 show Vampyr and I was like, isn't it Vampyr?
00:32:20 --> 00:32:22 I'm like, I've been saying Vampyr for like 30
00:32:22 --> 00:32:25 years now and now you're correcting me? No, I
00:32:25 --> 00:32:27 won't accept that. It came from a German guy.
00:32:27 --> 00:32:30 I trust a German guy more than I trust you. It
00:32:30 --> 00:32:33 stays vampire now. Yeah, it's vampire. It stays
00:32:33 --> 00:32:35 vampire. That one's actually a pretty good movie.
00:32:36 --> 00:32:38 It's very moody. I love putting that one in.
00:32:39 --> 00:32:41 Obviously, this one is not a silent film, but
00:32:41 --> 00:32:44 it kind of falls in the same black and white,
00:32:44 --> 00:32:47 which is Night of the Living Dead. Yeah. I think
00:32:47 --> 00:32:49 that was probably one of my first criterions,
00:32:49 --> 00:32:54 and I saw parts of it as growing up, i've always
00:32:54 --> 00:32:57 been terrified of zombies because that's more
00:32:57 --> 00:33:02 realistic than a possession film you know i mean
00:33:02 --> 00:33:05 as catholic you're like oh fine if they're possessed
00:33:05 --> 00:33:08 just throw them some holy water and whatnot but
00:33:08 --> 00:33:10 if it's a zombie that motherfucking can run you
00:33:10 --> 00:33:12 don't know what zombie you're getting you could
00:33:12 --> 00:33:15 get the slow zombie or you could get the speedy
00:33:15 --> 00:33:17 zombie like world war z so it's kind of like
00:33:17 --> 00:33:19 i don't know what zombie i'm gonna get so i don't
00:33:19 --> 00:33:22 want to risk it you know i don't want to have
00:33:22 --> 00:33:24 to go to dunkin donuts to get my pumpkin spice
00:33:24 --> 00:33:27 latte and look like what's his name austin abrams
00:33:27 --> 00:33:29 you know walking down the street and resident
00:33:29 --> 00:33:30 evil all these motherfuckers just jumping on
00:33:30 --> 00:33:33 me no i don't want that i'd rather a possessed
00:33:33 --> 00:33:38 girl you know but my thing is like when it comes
00:33:38 --> 00:33:40 to zombies like my knowledge i wouldn't say it's
00:33:40 --> 00:33:43 limited i just want somebody to explain at least
00:33:43 --> 00:33:46 some of the films because i go into some of them
00:33:46 --> 00:33:49 without a lot of knowledge like for example day
00:33:49 --> 00:33:52 of the dead which i bought the box set and i
00:33:52 --> 00:33:55 liked it i liked the box set i actually wanted
00:33:55 --> 00:33:58 to talk about it a while ago but it was a movie
00:33:58 --> 00:34:02 that i didn't know a lot of and i liked it i
00:34:02 --> 00:34:04 didn't love the movie itself but i liked the
00:34:04 --> 00:34:06 transfer i liked the box set i liked everything
00:34:06 --> 00:34:09 that came with and people were just hating on
00:34:09 --> 00:34:12 it and i was like this is why i need people who
00:34:12 --> 00:34:15 know about zombies and editions about zombies
00:34:15 --> 00:34:18 because i'm over here in my ignorance you know
00:34:18 --> 00:34:22 enjoy with this box that looks cute and i put
00:34:22 --> 00:34:25 it on my tv stand i put it on top of my desk
00:34:25 --> 00:34:27 because it looks cute and people are just hating
00:34:27 --> 00:34:31 on it like was there a better a better version
00:34:31 --> 00:34:35 of this like people were pissed about the transfer
00:34:35 --> 00:34:38 man i i it's funny because i i had ordered it
00:34:38 --> 00:34:42 i got it i'd ordered on amazon i got the 4k and
00:34:43 --> 00:34:45 And I hadn't even, like, I didn't even put it
00:34:45 --> 00:34:47 in or nothing because I have the Blu -ray. I
00:34:47 --> 00:34:50 have the Shout Factory one. And I know from my
00:34:50 --> 00:34:53 understanding was that I think like the film,
00:34:53 --> 00:34:55 like the original was missing or something. So
00:34:55 --> 00:34:58 they couldn't fully do a restore, like a proper
00:34:58 --> 00:35:00 restore. And that's why a lot of people were
00:35:00 --> 00:35:02 like, oh, the transfer is not like a proper restore
00:35:02 --> 00:35:05 or whatever. And I think I spent like, dude,
00:35:05 --> 00:35:08 I think it was like 50, 60 bucks to pre -order
00:35:08 --> 00:35:11 it. And I kind of just realized that. Like once
00:35:11 --> 00:35:13 I got it and stuff, I was like, you know what?
00:35:13 --> 00:35:15 I'm just going to use that money for something
00:35:15 --> 00:35:18 else. And I just ended up sending it back. And
00:35:18 --> 00:35:19 I just I was like, I already have the Blu -ray
00:35:19 --> 00:35:22 and I'm happy with it. Like, I really enjoy the
00:35:22 --> 00:35:24 movie. Like, I think I think it's pretty great.
00:35:24 --> 00:35:27 It's a fun addition. And it just it really goes
00:35:27 --> 00:35:29 to show how like human nature and society and
00:35:29 --> 00:35:31 everything, like how we behave under certain
00:35:31 --> 00:35:34 circumstances. But yeah, with that being said,
00:35:34 --> 00:35:37 I just ended up sending it back. And I was like,
00:35:37 --> 00:35:39 you know what? I mean. Like, if it's not going
00:35:39 --> 00:35:41 to be a proper transfer, then I'm okay with the
00:35:41 --> 00:35:44 Blu -ray. Because we've gotten so spoiled, too,
00:35:44 --> 00:35:47 man, with, like, 4K stuff. And, like, I know
00:35:47 --> 00:35:49 people that I've grown up with. We grew up on
00:35:49 --> 00:35:53 VHS and DVDs, right? And they loved it. But now
00:35:53 --> 00:35:55 they're, like, they've become a little bougie.
00:35:55 --> 00:35:57 And they're like, oh, no, I can't watch VHS anymore.
00:35:57 --> 00:36:00 It's like, dude, you know, you can't be too spoiled.
00:36:00 --> 00:36:03 Some movies are still stuck on, like, DVD and
00:36:03 --> 00:36:06 shit. you'll never they're probably never gonna
00:36:06 --> 00:36:08 get like a like for example not another teen
00:36:08 --> 00:36:12 movie or american movie dude it's freaking awesome
00:36:12 --> 00:36:16 and to find the blu -ray it's so like it's pricey
00:36:16 --> 00:36:18 man and same thing with american werewolf in
00:36:18 --> 00:36:21 paris that oh yeah i forgot about that one dude
00:36:21 --> 00:36:24 that one's good that one's such a fun movie i
00:36:24 --> 00:36:26 found it on vhs a while back and then just two
00:36:26 --> 00:36:29 days ago i came across the dvd in the thrift
00:36:29 --> 00:36:32 store like in mint condition and i look it up
00:36:32 --> 00:36:36 online And I'm like, okay, there's only a Blu
00:36:36 --> 00:36:38 -ray release, but I think it was either a German
00:36:38 --> 00:36:42 release or somewhere in Europe. And that's it.
00:36:42 --> 00:36:45 And to get it, it's expensive. You're spending
00:36:45 --> 00:36:47 a pretty penny to get it. So I was like, you
00:36:47 --> 00:36:50 know what? I'm just going to buy the DVD. These
00:36:50 --> 00:36:52 are the type of movies that I enjoy on those
00:36:52 --> 00:36:55 formats. Watching it on DVD where it belongs.
00:36:55 --> 00:37:00 It looks so good. You know how CGI is, man. You'll
00:37:00 --> 00:37:04 listen to that episode I did on Cube. that there's
00:37:04 --> 00:37:06 just certain things or like event horizon there's
00:37:06 --> 00:37:09 certain scenes that the cgi just does not hold
00:37:09 --> 00:37:14 up so to me it's just i'd rather keep it on the
00:37:14 --> 00:37:18 original format or even as high as blu -ray just
00:37:18 --> 00:37:19 because i don't want to see so much of the imperfections
00:37:19 --> 00:37:22 like i want to like i want to enjoy the movie
00:37:22 --> 00:37:24 not be distracted by like damn that looks like
00:37:24 --> 00:37:27 shit i do have some dvds that i think most of
00:37:27 --> 00:37:34 them are amanda I just put them on because I
00:37:34 --> 00:37:37 want to enjoy the movie. And some people are
00:37:37 --> 00:37:38 like, oh, I got the Blu -ray. It looks so much
00:37:38 --> 00:37:40 better. I'm like, I don't give a shit. I just
00:37:40 --> 00:37:43 want to see the movie. Okay, great for you. You
00:37:43 --> 00:37:45 had the Blu -ray. What do you want me to do?
00:37:45 --> 00:37:49 Send you a trophy? I'm good with my $5 DVD. It's
00:37:49 --> 00:37:53 okay. It still plays. And some of the horror
00:37:53 --> 00:37:58 ones that I have are some, not all, but some
00:37:58 --> 00:37:59 of the horrors that I have, I've been buying
00:37:59 --> 00:38:04 some on DVD. I've been going. Again, I go to
00:38:04 --> 00:38:06 Night Owl and sometimes I see some horror, like
00:38:06 --> 00:38:09 classic horrors on DVD and I just get them because
00:38:09 --> 00:38:11 I'm like, I don't know shit about the movie.
00:38:11 --> 00:38:13 The movie Threats, I bought that on DVD because
00:38:13 --> 00:38:15 it's a separate DVD, by the way. I didn't buy
00:38:15 --> 00:38:17 the 4K because I don't know the movie. Now, if
00:38:17 --> 00:38:21 I see the movie on DVD and I like it, I'll upgrade
00:38:21 --> 00:38:26 it later on. But that whole judging, you have
00:38:26 --> 00:38:27 to see it on 4K because that's how it's meant
00:38:27 --> 00:38:30 to be seen. Well, it was also meant to be seen
00:38:30 --> 00:38:33 on a piece of tape. back in the day. So, you
00:38:33 --> 00:38:36 know, we can pick and choose our poison, but
00:38:36 --> 00:38:38 there's movies that just look good. I saw a video
00:38:38 --> 00:38:42 recently of somebody asking like, why are people
00:38:42 --> 00:38:45 buying VHS and watching movies on VHS and VHS
00:38:45 --> 00:38:48 has become expensive? Because again, it's obviously
00:38:48 --> 00:38:51 nostalgia. And sometimes it's, if you want to
00:38:51 --> 00:38:54 set a mood for yourself and you want to see a
00:38:54 --> 00:38:56 movie on VHS, then that's your choice. Like,
00:38:56 --> 00:38:58 why are you judging people? There's people who
00:38:58 --> 00:39:02 have mad collections and beautiful collections
00:39:02 --> 00:39:06 of VHS and I wish I had that like I have a stack
00:39:06 --> 00:39:08 behind me and I can't put any more so I'm just
00:39:08 --> 00:39:11 collecting the ones that I like but same thing
00:39:11 --> 00:39:15 with you know DVDs I mentioned in one of my episodes
00:39:15 --> 00:39:18 I think it was the one from Madrid and Rome that
00:39:18 --> 00:39:23 a lot of collectors in UK and Europe they still
00:39:23 --> 00:39:26 collect DVDs a lot of the horror that I bought
00:39:26 --> 00:39:30 internationally is DVD so I'm like, what about
00:39:30 --> 00:39:32 those people? Are those people not watching movies
00:39:32 --> 00:39:34 like they're meant to be watched? Some of these
00:39:34 --> 00:39:37 DVDs have 5 .1 DTS. But over there, they have
00:39:37 --> 00:39:40 4K DVDs. I'm like, how the fuck do you get that?
00:39:40 --> 00:39:44 It's like a 4K transfer for a DVD. I'm like,
00:39:44 --> 00:39:46 we don't even have that from Criterion here when
00:39:46 --> 00:39:50 they have the 4K transfer. But I'm like, and
00:39:50 --> 00:39:53 they look good. Like, they look pretty good.
00:39:53 --> 00:39:57 And a lot of the horror that is DVD that I bought,
00:39:57 --> 00:40:00 it looks pretty good. Dude, they get the good
00:40:00 --> 00:40:02 stuff, man. Like I recently, well, not recently,
00:40:02 --> 00:40:05 but like last year, late last year, I came across
00:40:05 --> 00:40:09 the DVD for the original Pulse movie. Because
00:40:09 --> 00:40:11 I know there was a remake and I'd never seen
00:40:11 --> 00:40:13 the original. So I was like, you know what? I
00:40:13 --> 00:40:15 got to start watching like Ringu and all those
00:40:15 --> 00:40:18 original horror movies. So I popped it in. I
00:40:18 --> 00:40:20 watched it on the little CRT. I know this is
00:40:20 --> 00:40:22 a podcast, so the fans can't see it, but you
00:40:22 --> 00:40:26 see the CRT behind me. And I threw the DVD in
00:40:26 --> 00:40:29 and watched it. And I was like, man. it's just
00:40:29 --> 00:40:32 man there's something like popping in and again
00:40:32 --> 00:40:33 watching it on the proper tv a lot of people
00:40:33 --> 00:40:37 try to watch vhs on a 4k tv or dvds and it's
00:40:37 --> 00:40:39 like it's not gonna kind of work out that way
00:40:39 --> 00:40:42 like you need like an older like plasma flat
00:40:42 --> 00:40:45 screen older flat screen tvs or the best way
00:40:45 --> 00:40:49 crt and i watched it man enjoyed it i was like
00:40:49 --> 00:40:52 you know what you know maybe one day like i'll
00:40:52 --> 00:40:55 check out the upgraded version and see and add
00:40:55 --> 00:40:58 it to the collection but There's something creepy
00:40:58 --> 00:41:01 about watching a movie like that. Like when the
00:41:01 --> 00:41:04 ghosts show up and stuff. And just seeing them
00:41:04 --> 00:41:07 not look so perfect. Because it's just the griminess,
00:41:08 --> 00:41:10 the grunginess of it. It makes it look creepier.
00:41:10 --> 00:41:13 Especially when you watch horror movies on VHS.
00:41:13 --> 00:41:16 To me, it's a ritual of popping in the tape.
00:41:16 --> 00:41:19 You get the trailers right off the bat. Like
00:41:19 --> 00:41:21 if it's a horror movie, you get all the horror
00:41:21 --> 00:41:22 trailers. It's such a mood. It's such a mood.
00:41:23 --> 00:41:26 Dude, it is. And then the movie starts. And it's
00:41:26 --> 00:41:28 like, for example, Bride of Chucky. I have the
00:41:28 --> 00:41:31 VHS for it. Dude, I love popping that movie in.
00:41:32 --> 00:41:35 Like watching that movie on VHS immediately transports
00:41:35 --> 00:41:39 me back to that high school days. And I'm sitting
00:41:39 --> 00:41:42 there and I just forget that I'm in 2026. And
00:41:42 --> 00:41:45 I've watched the movie and it just, I don't know,
00:41:45 --> 00:41:47 it just makes it so much better for me. Because
00:41:47 --> 00:41:50 I've seen it too on like Blu -ray. And I was
00:41:50 --> 00:41:52 like, ah, it just doesn't do it for me. Like
00:41:52 --> 00:41:56 it looks great. doesn't get me as excited when
00:41:56 --> 00:41:59 i posted the harriet the spy the only thing i
00:41:59 --> 00:42:02 had from harriet i think it was just the vhs
00:42:02 --> 00:42:06 cover the vhs was in front of the tv but behind
00:42:06 --> 00:42:09 it there was a commercial and everybody just
00:42:09 --> 00:42:11 started reacting to like oh my god i remember
00:42:11 --> 00:42:14 that commercial like you know you were watching
00:42:14 --> 00:42:16 a nickelodeon or this or that when you saw that
00:42:16 --> 00:42:19 commercial i was like yeah like you know you
00:42:19 --> 00:42:21 don't know that unless you're like going through
00:42:21 --> 00:42:24 that era So like there's a thing about obviously
00:42:24 --> 00:42:28 you wanting to create, recreate nostalgia. But
00:42:28 --> 00:42:31 sometimes it's just you're in a mood. You're
00:42:31 --> 00:42:35 like the same type of people that go into a bathtub
00:42:35 --> 00:42:38 with a book and a bottle of wine. I never end
00:42:38 --> 00:42:41 up reading the book. But, you know, I set the
00:42:41 --> 00:42:44 mood so the book could watch me drink wine. But
00:42:44 --> 00:42:46 there's some people who like to read in a tub.
00:42:46 --> 00:42:50 I like to watch movies in a good format, obviously.
00:42:50 --> 00:42:52 But if it's a movie that I need to watch in a
00:42:52 --> 00:42:55 good form, for example, going back to the Conclave
00:42:55 --> 00:42:58 movie, I like how the cinematography in that
00:42:58 --> 00:43:01 looks. If you give me this on VHS, I'm not going
00:43:01 --> 00:43:04 to get that quality. So there's movies that you
00:43:04 --> 00:43:07 could watch in a certain way and others that
00:43:07 --> 00:43:09 obviously you're never going to be able to appreciate
00:43:09 --> 00:43:13 in that way. When you mentioned Werewolf in Paris,
00:43:13 --> 00:43:17 I remember the one that I love. And this is because
00:43:17 --> 00:43:20 bringing it back at least to the practical effects.
00:43:20 --> 00:43:24 that movie the werewolf in london is probably
00:43:24 --> 00:43:26 one of my favorites because of like you can watch
00:43:26 --> 00:43:29 on vhs you can watch on dvd you can watch in
00:43:29 --> 00:43:32 whatever format but the movie itself is so perfect
00:43:32 --> 00:43:35 like you still get the feeling whichever format
00:43:35 --> 00:43:37 you watch obviously like if you're watching it
00:43:37 --> 00:43:39 on 4k you're getting a better quality and a good
00:43:39 --> 00:43:42 sound but i do love how the effects at least
00:43:42 --> 00:43:46 of that era like i said you still don't get that
00:43:46 --> 00:43:50 type or they try to recreate that type of effects
00:43:50 --> 00:43:52 in horror. I don't think I've seen a wolf transformation
00:43:52 --> 00:43:57 that epic in recent years. I don't know. I don't
00:43:57 --> 00:44:01 watch a lot of werewolf movies or, I mean, Curse
00:44:01 --> 00:44:03 with Christina Ricci was probably the last one
00:44:03 --> 00:44:05 that I remember, but I don't watch a lot of them.
00:44:05 --> 00:44:07 But I'm like, that is probably still one of the
00:44:07 --> 00:44:10 most epic transformations from werewolves. What's
00:44:10 --> 00:44:12 his face? Robert Eggers. I don't really like
00:44:12 --> 00:44:15 his movies. Maybe they go over my head, but...
00:44:16 --> 00:44:19 I did like Nosferatu. I did like what he did
00:44:19 --> 00:44:22 with Nosferatu. Did I love it? Maybe not, but
00:44:22 --> 00:44:26 I do love the cinematography and the costuming
00:44:26 --> 00:44:30 and the atmosphere. And there was something also
00:44:30 --> 00:44:34 about the pace of the movie that the original,
00:44:35 --> 00:44:38 which I also love the original Nosferatu, which
00:44:38 --> 00:44:40 that's another side of the movie that I really
00:44:40 --> 00:44:42 love. And I feel like the pacing of the original
00:44:42 --> 00:44:44 Nosferatu, obviously because it's from that era,
00:44:45 --> 00:44:47 it kind of moves, you know, has that quick movement
00:44:47 --> 00:44:51 kind of type. But this one was so slow paced
00:44:51 --> 00:44:55 at certain points. And it kind of made the story
00:44:55 --> 00:44:59 a little bit more romantic in a way. Yeah. So
00:44:59 --> 00:45:01 I got to say, as much as I don't like his other
00:45:01 --> 00:45:05 films, this one I did like. And I'm a little
00:45:05 --> 00:45:09 intrigued when it comes to the werewolf one that
00:45:09 --> 00:45:12 he's doing. I don't know. I'm not going to hold
00:45:12 --> 00:45:15 my breath of it being a good movie because, again,
00:45:15 --> 00:45:17 I did not like The Northman, I think it's called.
00:45:17 --> 00:45:19 I only like the Bjork part because I'm a Bjork
00:45:19 --> 00:45:23 fan. But The Werewolf, I'm hoping it's a good
00:45:23 --> 00:45:27 one. I hope it stays in the same lane of Nosferatu,
00:45:27 --> 00:45:31 of trying to build that nostalgia for old films.
00:45:31 --> 00:45:37 And if anybody can give a good odd to that kind
00:45:37 --> 00:45:39 of filmmaking back in the day, it would be...
00:45:39 --> 00:45:41 eggers like as much as i don't like them i gotta
00:45:41 --> 00:45:43 give them as flowers where they're due yeah no
00:45:43 --> 00:45:45 i completely agree man i mean there's certain
00:45:45 --> 00:45:48 movies like i i think for me my favorite like
00:45:48 --> 00:45:52 when it comes to watching movies upscaled like
00:45:52 --> 00:45:54 when these 4k releases and stuff i love watching
00:45:54 --> 00:45:57 the original movies like i love and i enjoy like
00:45:57 --> 00:46:00 candy man pumpkin head like the fly like movies
00:46:00 --> 00:46:04 like that on like 4k and seeing them especially
00:46:04 --> 00:46:06 a lot of black and white movies like watching
00:46:06 --> 00:46:10 black and white movies on 4k and stuff like that
00:46:10 --> 00:46:14 it's just such an experience because it just
00:46:14 --> 00:46:17 you see so much that you do miss by watching
00:46:17 --> 00:46:20 like when they first came out compared to like
00:46:20 --> 00:46:22 a lot of new stuff and i don't know i always
00:46:22 --> 00:46:26 find myself drawn to the era like between 70s
00:46:26 --> 00:46:30 and 90s and even early 2000s that's what i always
00:46:30 --> 00:46:32 find myself re -watching instead of a lot of
00:46:32 --> 00:46:33 the new stuff like i don't know i just i don't
00:46:33 --> 00:46:35 know what it is it's just i don't know if it's
00:46:35 --> 00:46:38 just the acting But like you said, like the transformations
00:46:38 --> 00:46:40 when it comes to the monsters. For example, yesterday
00:46:40 --> 00:46:43 I was watching a little bit of Fright Night Part
00:46:43 --> 00:46:45 2. I'd never seen Part 2. At least I don't remember.
00:46:45 --> 00:46:48 It's good. And yeah, I was enjoying it. I was
00:46:48 --> 00:46:50 watching it. And there's something about, like
00:46:50 --> 00:46:52 I know a lot of people are like, oh, but that
00:46:52 --> 00:46:54 affects cheesy or this and that. But it's real.
00:46:55 --> 00:46:57 It's something tangible. It's real. It's not
00:46:57 --> 00:47:01 CGI. You see the fangs and they're real fangs.
00:47:01 --> 00:47:04 They're not CGI fangs. And I'd rather have that.
00:47:05 --> 00:47:08 tangibility then just knowing that it's just
00:47:08 --> 00:47:10 not there and the actors like imagining that
00:47:10 --> 00:47:13 it's there because there's I've seen it time
00:47:13 --> 00:47:15 and time again where actors will say though they
00:47:15 --> 00:47:18 would say I think it's William Defoe has said
00:47:18 --> 00:47:21 this before about having the item in your hand
00:47:21 --> 00:47:23 because when you have something in your hand
00:47:23 --> 00:47:26 when you have something that's tangible you don't
00:47:26 --> 00:47:29 have to pretend so the acting just comes out
00:47:29 --> 00:47:32 natural yeah and just having to sit there stare
00:47:32 --> 00:47:34 at a wall and they're like oh i gotta pretend
00:47:34 --> 00:47:35 there's something here instead of recreating
00:47:35 --> 00:47:38 it and that's why i did like i i love movies
00:47:38 --> 00:47:41 like for example like and this is not like horror
00:47:41 --> 00:47:45 per se but like a studios there was a created
00:47:45 --> 00:47:48 core line that okay yeah so like uh you know
00:47:48 --> 00:47:51 they do stop motion animation everything is from
00:47:51 --> 00:47:54 scratch these movies that they make like i know
00:47:54 --> 00:47:56 they're releasing one called wildwood and every
00:47:56 --> 00:47:59 single thing is from scratch There's no CGI.
00:47:59 --> 00:48:02 There's nothing crazy. They make the animations
00:48:02 --> 00:48:05 and imagine, dude, the craft to sit there. Because
00:48:05 --> 00:48:08 I've seen so many behind the scenes and mini
00:48:08 --> 00:48:11 documentaries on it. And to sit there and have
00:48:11 --> 00:48:13 that patience and create these worlds. And in
00:48:13 --> 00:48:17 horror, that's what a lot of back in the day
00:48:17 --> 00:48:20 between 70s and 90s was just from dusk till dawn
00:48:20 --> 00:48:23 and the dawn of the dead. You have these people
00:48:23 --> 00:48:26 creating. these effects and these worlds and
00:48:26 --> 00:48:30 making you believe that it's real and um we've
00:48:30 --> 00:48:33 definitely lost a bit of that art and i like
00:48:33 --> 00:48:35 to see a lot of these new directors trying to
00:48:35 --> 00:48:39 bring that back with eggers trying to kind of
00:48:39 --> 00:48:43 keep an homage to the original but with doing
00:48:43 --> 00:48:45 a little bit of their own take like kind of polishing
00:48:45 --> 00:48:49 it a little bit but still trying to respect where
00:48:49 --> 00:48:52 it came from and what it was because i always
00:48:52 --> 00:48:54 hate when people kind of just do that they're
00:48:54 --> 00:48:56 like i'm gonna do my own reimagining and just
00:48:56 --> 00:48:59 spit all over it dude and it's like come on yeah
00:48:59 --> 00:49:02 the blob is one that i i remember seeing that
00:49:02 --> 00:49:06 movie as a kid because my mom rented it and yo
00:49:06 --> 00:49:08 when i saw that lady in the phone booth spoiler
00:49:08 --> 00:49:14 like yo i was freaked out the original one i
00:49:14 --> 00:49:16 have from criterion i like it i love that one
00:49:16 --> 00:49:21 but when i saw i think it's screen factory the
00:49:21 --> 00:49:23 one that put out the 4k it was yeah I think they
00:49:23 --> 00:49:26 did like a steelbook maybe. I'm trying to remember.
00:49:26 --> 00:49:28 I don't have the steelbook. I have the slipcover
00:49:28 --> 00:49:31 one. That's the one that I have. It's actually
00:49:31 --> 00:49:33 a pretty good slipcover. I started liking it
00:49:33 --> 00:49:35 more actually because when I finished the movie
00:49:35 --> 00:49:37 entirely as an adult, I was like, oh, this movie
00:49:37 --> 00:49:39 is actually pretty good. Like it starts off as
00:49:39 --> 00:49:41 horror and then all of a sudden it just becomes
00:49:41 --> 00:49:44 like kind of action -packed kind of stuff. And
00:49:44 --> 00:49:47 it reminded me a lot of... the i don't know if
00:49:47 --> 00:49:50 i would compare it necessarily to the thing because
00:49:50 --> 00:49:53 that's another one i wanted to talk about because
00:49:53 --> 00:49:56 of the effects in that movie and the and the
00:49:56 --> 00:49:59 thing and the blob kind of go from like this
00:49:59 --> 00:50:04 horror kind of alien situation thing that they
00:50:04 --> 00:50:06 have going on and then but there's also like
00:50:06 --> 00:50:10 this action packed between the film that it's
00:50:10 --> 00:50:12 like yeah you might not like horror but We're
00:50:12 --> 00:50:15 also going to give you guns and stuff and bombs
00:50:15 --> 00:50:18 and all that kind of crap. Those are two movies
00:50:18 --> 00:50:19 that to me are pretty interesting. I want to
00:50:19 --> 00:50:22 say The Thing is probably one that I would put
00:50:22 --> 00:50:25 in my Halloween catalog. I would probably swap
00:50:25 --> 00:50:28 that with The Fog because I do love The Fog.
00:50:29 --> 00:50:31 from carpenter is so much a better atmosphere
00:50:31 --> 00:50:34 movie i don't even have to sit down and watch
00:50:34 --> 00:50:36 it i don't even sit down and watch it sometimes
00:50:36 --> 00:50:37 i'm just like cooking and doing my own thing
00:50:37 --> 00:50:40 and then we're just playing and just the sound
00:50:40 --> 00:50:43 and the atmosphere like i just love everything
00:50:43 --> 00:50:47 about that film dude it's it's so good man i
00:50:47 --> 00:50:48 remember the first time i watched it i was like
00:50:48 --> 00:50:51 damn like i love atmospheric movies and it's
00:50:51 --> 00:50:53 funny when we talk about vampire earlier that's
00:50:53 --> 00:50:56 one thing that i love it's like just the fog
00:50:56 --> 00:51:00 and i don't know it's to me it's it's cozy like
00:51:00 --> 00:51:02 i know i know for people like what the hell like
00:51:02 --> 00:51:05 yeah no it's true yeah it's true yeah you mentioned
00:51:05 --> 00:51:07 pumpkin head too because like pumpkin head is
00:51:07 --> 00:51:11 one that it was a blind spot for me until i bought
00:51:11 --> 00:51:14 it and i went through and i was like wait did
00:51:14 --> 00:51:16 i return this deal book because i remember not
00:51:16 --> 00:51:19 liking the film the first time i saw it and i
00:51:19 --> 00:51:21 thought i returned it but i didn't and then i
00:51:21 --> 00:51:25 saw it again and i was like oh okay the movie
00:51:25 --> 00:51:28 It's very atmospheric, especially when they're
00:51:28 --> 00:51:32 in the woods. That's the parts that I like. The
00:51:32 --> 00:51:35 beginning kind of bothers me a bit because I
00:51:35 --> 00:51:37 do hate the motorcycle part. Because something's
00:51:37 --> 00:51:39 going to happen. We all know something's going
00:51:39 --> 00:51:41 to happen. But can we stop doing all these takes
00:51:41 --> 00:51:45 and, you know, just kill the boy? Just get rid
00:51:45 --> 00:51:49 of him. Bring me the boy. Some Voldemort pervert
00:51:49 --> 00:51:52 kind of shit. You have that atmosphere in that
00:51:52 --> 00:51:55 movie once. you get through the first few minutes
00:51:55 --> 00:51:58 and i started liking it a little bit more the
00:51:58 --> 00:52:01 second time i liked it a little bit more and
00:52:01 --> 00:52:03 then i watched it again i think it was last year
00:52:03 --> 00:52:10 and the part where he's racing pumpkin head that
00:52:10 --> 00:52:12 he's like in that stub or something like that
00:52:12 --> 00:52:16 and and in the middle of the woods that part
00:52:16 --> 00:52:18 i'm like whoa this is a very nice built atmosphere
00:52:18 --> 00:52:21 here and obviously the creature is epic The creature
00:52:21 --> 00:52:24 is probably one of those, you see it and you
00:52:24 --> 00:52:26 know where it comes from. And I always thought
00:52:26 --> 00:52:29 that that was like a Goosebumps book that I missed.
00:52:30 --> 00:52:31 At one point, I was like, is Pumpkinhead like
00:52:31 --> 00:52:33 a, I'm like, because it was a Pumpkinhead Goosebumps
00:52:33 --> 00:52:36 book. I'm pretty sure. I think there, I know
00:52:36 --> 00:52:40 they did a recent Pumpkinhead Goosebumps book.
00:52:40 --> 00:52:43 Yeah. A Goosebumps movie. Because I think, yeah,
00:52:43 --> 00:52:47 I somehow started watching it. I didn't, I don't
00:52:47 --> 00:52:49 think I finished it, but I somehow started watching
00:52:49 --> 00:52:50 and got into it. I was like, oh, this is cool.
00:52:52 --> 00:52:53 I'm a sucker for goosebumps. So I was like, man,
00:52:54 --> 00:52:56 I was like, you know what? Part two is coming
00:52:56 --> 00:52:59 out. I heard. Okay. So I got to finish the first
00:52:59 --> 00:53:02 one. Oh, damn. That's pretty cool. They brought
00:53:02 --> 00:53:04 her in for that. They're trying to spice up goosebumps.
00:53:05 --> 00:53:10 I know. She's coming in boobs first. That's going
00:53:10 --> 00:53:12 to be the first take. It just pans out. Boobs.
00:53:13 --> 00:53:16 But dude, Pumpkinhead, man. Man, I have so many
00:53:16 --> 00:53:18 fond memories of movies like that, like Pumpkinhead.
00:53:18 --> 00:53:22 like candy man the dentist i've never seen the
00:53:22 --> 00:53:24 dentist i know the cover because that that movie
00:53:24 --> 00:53:27 was always there yeah and i've never seen it
00:53:27 --> 00:53:31 i'm like i hate the dentist like you know if
00:53:31 --> 00:53:33 you can tell like i'm like i broke my jaw years
00:53:33 --> 00:53:36 ago and i was supposed to get an operation and
00:53:36 --> 00:53:39 i'm like when i saw like what they had to do
00:53:39 --> 00:53:43 i was like no it's fine love me as i am if not
00:53:43 --> 00:53:46 don't worry you know i go to the dentist and
00:53:46 --> 00:53:48 i just think about that that scene also in final
00:53:48 --> 00:53:50 destination where he's coming around the dentist
00:53:50 --> 00:53:52 and the glasses falls on him not that i go to
00:53:52 --> 00:53:54 a dentist that's in a building like that but
00:53:54 --> 00:53:57 you never know if a glass falls off the sky you
00:53:57 --> 00:54:01 know so and also little chopper horrors i don't
00:54:01 --> 00:54:03 trust these fucking dentists for shit dude don't
00:54:03 --> 00:54:05 i'll say this man don't watch the movie then
00:54:05 --> 00:54:08 because it would i mean a lot of people got traumatized
00:54:08 --> 00:54:11 back in the 90s from watching that movie and
00:54:11 --> 00:54:14 it's It's just one of those in the UK. Yeah.
00:54:15 --> 00:54:18 It's so the dentist. I mean, I love, I love,
00:54:18 --> 00:54:20 I love my UK listeners. Sorry, the UK listeners.
00:54:21 --> 00:54:24 They're going to be like, damn you. You're not
00:54:24 --> 00:54:27 allowed back anymore. It's fine. They ban you
00:54:27 --> 00:54:29 at the airport. They're like, they have a picture
00:54:29 --> 00:54:31 of you with the microphone. They're like that
00:54:31 --> 00:54:35 guy. But yeah, man, I movies like that. I remember.
00:54:35 --> 00:54:37 And this was because I remember seeing Pumpkinhead.
00:54:38 --> 00:54:40 i remember seeing candyman i remember seeing
00:54:40 --> 00:54:43 the fly the thing these were all movies that
00:54:43 --> 00:54:45 i saw around 2000 and well except the thing actually
00:54:45 --> 00:54:48 all around 2000 between 2002 2003 i remember
00:54:48 --> 00:54:50 seeing these because i was in high school i was
00:54:50 --> 00:54:52 like 9th 10th grade and i had a buddy of mine
00:54:52 --> 00:54:55 that was huge into movies like big time he had
00:54:55 --> 00:54:58 a nice collection and he was a few he was like
00:54:58 --> 00:55:00 two three years older than me at the time too
00:55:00 --> 00:55:01 i think he was almost graduating high school
00:55:01 --> 00:55:04 and he really introduced me to a lot of like
00:55:04 --> 00:55:07 these films And we also had a video store down,
00:55:07 --> 00:55:09 literally down the street. It was called Variety
00:55:09 --> 00:55:12 Video, tiny little video store. But dude, it
00:55:12 --> 00:55:17 gets as 90s as it can get. I mean, it was like
00:55:17 --> 00:55:20 a video store from like a horror movie in the
00:55:20 --> 00:55:23 sense of it was very dark, kind of dingy, dusty.
00:55:23 --> 00:55:26 And it just had all these aisles where once you
00:55:26 --> 00:55:28 went into an aisle, when you walk to the end
00:55:28 --> 00:55:31 of it, it was just a wall. So the only way out
00:55:31 --> 00:55:33 of it is to walk back the same way. So it's already
00:55:33 --> 00:55:37 one way. that situation in and out but it was
00:55:37 --> 00:55:41 just all vhs tapes and i remember always walking
00:55:41 --> 00:55:43 by and seeing like movies like that like the
00:55:43 --> 00:55:46 blob like candy man and all that like you'd see
00:55:46 --> 00:55:49 the fly and i would always walk by and i remember
00:55:49 --> 00:55:51 pumpkin head was one of them i remember renting
00:55:51 --> 00:55:54 that and it was such an experience dude watching
00:55:54 --> 00:55:58 that at home and like especially here in florida
00:55:58 --> 00:56:00 you know it's always raining so to have that
00:56:00 --> 00:56:02 type of weather and then be able to watch this
00:56:02 --> 00:56:07 type of movie but man it's just it's it's always
00:56:07 --> 00:56:09 highly recommend these films man like there's
00:56:09 --> 00:56:12 something about them the way they were made and
00:56:12 --> 00:56:14 just it was to me it was kind of like the golden
00:56:14 --> 00:56:17 era for horror in a way i mean at least from
00:56:17 --> 00:56:20 my personal opinion like i i just there's something
00:56:20 --> 00:56:25 about the 90s and like late 80s horror that was
00:56:25 --> 00:56:28 just i had this grunge to it and it was just
00:56:28 --> 00:56:31 you could just feel that things were changing
00:56:31 --> 00:56:35 for cinema compared to like It fully transcended
00:56:35 --> 00:56:37 from just black and white. Because we went from
00:56:37 --> 00:56:41 no audio, just black and white, to then black
00:56:41 --> 00:56:44 and white with audio, to dialogue, to then these
00:56:44 --> 00:56:47 kind of more pushing the envelope. They started
00:56:47 --> 00:56:50 adding more nudity and this and that, and a little
00:56:50 --> 00:56:52 bit more cursing here and there. The obligatory
00:56:52 --> 00:56:56 boob shot. Yeah, exactly. I'm getting killed,
00:56:56 --> 00:56:59 but first. I know, I'm getting killed, but first,
00:56:59 --> 00:57:03 boobs. yeah like i grew up in puerto rico and
00:57:03 --> 00:57:05 long island but in puerto rico like i didn't
00:57:05 --> 00:57:08 have growing up a video store near or anything
00:57:08 --> 00:57:11 like that until like years later they build one
00:57:11 --> 00:57:14 but by then i had already moved to long island
00:57:14 --> 00:57:18 where i grew up and me and my best friend we
00:57:18 --> 00:57:23 used to run to the library to fight over the
00:57:23 --> 00:57:27 same copy of i think it was home alone his chinese
00:57:27 --> 00:57:30 so he would do his martial arts shit try to scare
00:57:30 --> 00:57:32 me the fuck out and then run faster than me so
00:57:32 --> 00:57:35 you know he always won so the thing is that one
00:57:35 --> 00:57:39 time he changed the movie inside so i rented
00:57:39 --> 00:57:43 the movie right and i took it home and the movie
00:57:43 --> 00:57:49 inside was the good son and i was like so i played
00:57:49 --> 00:57:51 outside this is not home alone but it's macaulay
00:57:51 --> 00:57:55 culkin and i was like and then like a few days
00:57:55 --> 00:57:57 later because i was doing the weekend i saw him
00:57:57 --> 00:57:59 in school and he's like oh how do you like home
00:57:59 --> 00:58:04 alone i was like you motherfucker yeah i'm not
00:58:04 --> 00:58:06 gonna fucking fight you because you know i always
00:58:06 --> 00:58:09 end up under a table but the thing is like after
00:58:09 --> 00:58:11 that i got into the movie the movie was pretty
00:58:11 --> 00:58:15 good i i do love the good son and then i started
00:58:15 --> 00:58:18 going through other movies I went through Hocus
00:58:18 --> 00:58:21 Pocus because I had seen it on TV, but because
00:58:21 --> 00:58:24 of my little sister, I couldn't. Yeah. And then
00:58:24 --> 00:58:26 I started going through older ones. That's when
00:58:26 --> 00:58:29 I found out that my mom was watching The Blob
00:58:29 --> 00:58:32 and right in front of the library because that's
00:58:32 --> 00:58:34 where I went to the movies. Right in front of
00:58:34 --> 00:58:38 the library, we had a Blockbuster. So my stepfather
00:58:38 --> 00:58:39 would take me over. And I'm already with a stack
00:58:39 --> 00:58:42 of VHS. Then I walked to Blockbuster with a stack
00:58:42 --> 00:58:45 already of VHS to rent more VHS. And then he's
00:58:45 --> 00:58:46 like, oh, you got to watch this one and that
00:58:46 --> 00:58:50 one. And the first time I saw Night of the Demons
00:58:50 --> 00:58:53 was because the babysitter that we had, not the
00:58:53 --> 00:58:57 most suitable one, she put it on. I'm like...
00:58:57 --> 00:58:59 what nine or ten almost ten and my little sister
00:58:59 --> 00:59:02 was like four or five and i was like she's not
00:59:02 --> 00:59:05 the most suitable babysitter yeah she's like
00:59:05 --> 00:59:09 here yeah she's like here watch this here's a
00:59:09 --> 00:59:12 bottle of scotch have a good time that movie
00:59:12 --> 00:59:14 started giving me nightmares ever since then
00:59:14 --> 00:59:17 but i do i do agree there's something about the
00:59:17 --> 00:59:20 at least like the 90s and the 80s i guess if
00:59:20 --> 00:59:23 you grew up in that era just the movie hunting
00:59:23 --> 00:59:25 for rental especially like during halloween time
00:59:25 --> 00:59:28 that it's just kind of like okay now let me build
00:59:28 --> 00:59:31 my my my spooky stack let me try to get all the
00:59:31 --> 00:59:34 the classic horrors at least when i was a kid
00:59:34 --> 00:59:36 i try not to because one that i was going to
00:59:36 --> 00:59:37 mention when we were talking about universal
00:59:37 --> 00:59:39 monsters was the monster squad i didn't see that
00:59:39 --> 00:59:42 until i was an adult i knew of the movie yeah
00:59:42 --> 00:59:44 i knew of the movie but i didn't see it until
00:59:44 --> 00:59:47 i was an adult and i know people who love it
00:59:47 --> 00:59:51 and it's such a pretty good film like i do like
00:59:51 --> 00:59:55 how they use the classic monsters in it i do
00:59:55 --> 00:59:58 like that part i wish it had a little more of
00:59:58 --> 01:00:01 some of them like for example the wolfman and
01:00:01 --> 01:00:03 the mummy i wish they were doing a little bit
01:00:03 --> 01:00:07 more but it's just so weird because for a kiss
01:00:07 --> 01:00:10 movie is very i'm like is this how we talked
01:00:10 --> 01:00:15 back in the 90s and 80s like i'm like yes yes
01:00:15 --> 01:00:18 we did you know that's how we talked We did,
01:00:18 --> 01:00:20 man. Listen, like when I watch these movies,
01:00:20 --> 01:00:22 I always think about like, man, a lot of these
01:00:22 --> 01:00:27 are very spot on. But like at least for because
01:00:27 --> 01:00:29 I mean, obviously, like I was I was born in 87.
01:00:29 --> 01:00:32 So for me, I was like in the like around what,
01:00:32 --> 01:00:35 97, 98. I was already like 10, 11. I remember
01:00:35 --> 01:00:37 growing up, even people around me like dressing,
01:00:37 --> 01:00:41 acting a certain way. And it's just so and you
01:00:41 --> 01:00:43 don't forget stuff like that, especially in this
01:00:43 --> 01:00:45 day and age, because it's so drastically different
01:00:45 --> 01:00:49 now. 2026. dude it's so different from how things
01:00:49 --> 01:00:51 used to be the way people behaved like people's
01:00:51 --> 01:00:54 character like everything it's just sometimes
01:00:54 --> 01:00:55 it's like that time machine man when you watch
01:00:55 --> 01:00:59 these movies from that era um even movies like
01:00:59 --> 01:01:00 like nightmare on elm street for example like
01:01:00 --> 01:01:03 the newer ones that like i think it's like when
01:01:03 --> 01:01:05 you get to like part three and part four and
01:01:05 --> 01:01:08 you see you start seeing that shift and and like
01:01:08 --> 01:01:11 the way people acted in the in the boldness of
01:01:11 --> 01:01:13 these films as they started changing like the
01:01:13 --> 01:01:15 era starts changing and they're like oh let's
01:01:15 --> 01:01:17 start incorporating this Even with like soundtracks.
01:01:17 --> 01:01:20 Like you notice you watch the first Nightmare
01:01:20 --> 01:01:21 on Elm Street and then you start watching the
01:01:21 --> 01:01:24 other ones. They always start with some badass
01:01:24 --> 01:01:27 song. Yeah. And like they just have some of the
01:01:27 --> 01:01:30 best soundtracks, man. Yeah. Yeah. Night of the
01:01:30 --> 01:01:32 Comet. Night of the Comet has a good soundtrack.
01:01:33 --> 01:01:35 I've never seen that one. You've never seen that
01:01:35 --> 01:01:39 one? At least, was there a remake of it? Not
01:01:39 --> 01:01:41 that I know of. The one that I have, I think
01:01:41 --> 01:01:43 it's also from Screen Factory and it's a 4K,
01:01:43 --> 01:01:46 but I don't think it has one. no okay not that
01:01:46 --> 01:01:49 i know of yeah because i saw a movie a few years
01:01:49 --> 01:01:53 ago that had to do with a comet but and it was
01:01:53 --> 01:01:54 just like that it was like one of those like
01:01:54 --> 01:01:56 these people are in a house and like there was
01:01:56 --> 01:01:59 like a comet and it lands and there was like
01:01:59 --> 01:02:01 a meteor or something and i think people started
01:02:01 --> 01:02:05 either getting not i guess not possessed but
01:02:05 --> 01:02:07 something weird was going on but it might be
01:02:07 --> 01:02:10 just some like its own thing but yeah i've never
01:02:10 --> 01:02:11 seen that other comment i've always heard of
01:02:11 --> 01:02:14 heard of it but i've never had a chance to so
01:02:14 --> 01:02:16 i'll definitely have to check that out yeah especially
01:02:16 --> 01:02:18 if it has a good soundtrack i think it was yeah
01:02:18 --> 01:02:21 it's kind of like rock and roll like yeah so
01:02:21 --> 01:02:25 it has like that mall vibe so it's like you have
01:02:25 --> 01:02:27 them going outside but when they're in a mall
01:02:27 --> 01:02:30 there's like a group of people who live in a
01:02:30 --> 01:02:32 mall so they start getting attacked by them not
01:02:32 --> 01:02:37 zombies just other people they do have some i
01:02:37 --> 01:02:38 don't want to spoil it there's a scene in a house
01:02:38 --> 01:02:41 that fucks me up every time because i know it's
01:02:41 --> 01:02:43 coming like i know the scene is coming but am
01:02:43 --> 01:02:45 i never paying attention to it then when i look
01:02:45 --> 01:02:48 up is that there it is so but it's a pretty good
01:02:48 --> 01:02:51 movie and it's actually a pretty good transfer
01:02:51 --> 01:02:54 too the picture looks amazing i got that a while
01:02:54 --> 01:02:55 i think i've had that movie for like three years
01:02:55 --> 01:02:58 i got the the whole set that came with a poster
01:02:58 --> 01:02:59 and all that kind of stuff from screen factory
01:02:59 --> 01:03:02 and it's pretty good that was a blind buy actually
01:03:02 --> 01:03:05 but yeah if you have a chance to see night of
01:03:05 --> 01:03:08 the comet check it out i don't think it's a good
01:03:08 --> 01:03:11 halloween movie but it is a good -vibing movie.
01:03:11 --> 01:03:14 So maybe watch it in November. There we go, yeah.
01:03:14 --> 01:03:17 Or, I mean, it's only October 7th, so I still
01:03:17 --> 01:03:21 have before 13 days of Halloween. Oh, true. Then
01:03:21 --> 01:03:23 we'll do the 12 days of Christmas, and we'll
01:03:23 --> 01:03:28 start with Better Watch Out. Yeah. I love movies
01:03:28 --> 01:03:31 like that, man. When it comes to those 80s rock
01:03:31 --> 01:03:34 -type music and all that, and the fact that it's
01:03:34 --> 01:03:37 in a mall but doesn't have to do with zombies.
01:03:37 --> 01:03:39 That's awesome. I'm already excited for it, man.
01:03:39 --> 01:03:43 I can't wait to see. You have two Valley girls
01:03:43 --> 01:03:46 going through LA. What's the worst that could
01:03:46 --> 01:03:49 happen? What's the worst that could happen? And
01:03:49 --> 01:03:51 I would love to watch that on VHS, actually.
01:03:51 --> 01:03:53 Because the quality, you can appreciate the 4K.
01:03:53 --> 01:03:57 But I feel like the vibe on VHS would probably
01:03:57 --> 01:03:59 be pretty solid. Just because of the rock and
01:03:59 --> 01:04:02 roll and all that kind of stuff. And I'll say,
01:04:02 --> 01:04:07 for anybody that loves horror and... loves that
01:04:07 --> 01:04:09 experience, that grunginess, or even grew up
01:04:09 --> 01:04:14 around our era. I want you to, especially with
01:04:14 --> 01:04:17 you, when you get your Steelbook box set for
01:04:17 --> 01:04:20 Nightmare on Elm Street, go ahead and watch the
01:04:20 --> 01:04:26 first one or the first three on 4K. And then
01:04:26 --> 01:04:28 if you're able to get your hands on the VHS,
01:04:28 --> 01:04:32 then watch it on VHS. And the 4K transfer for
01:04:32 --> 01:04:35 phenomenal, amazing, beautiful. But when you
01:04:35 --> 01:04:39 watch it on VHS, You get that kind of warm, I
01:04:39 --> 01:04:41 don't know, it's something about that warm, tingly
01:04:41 --> 01:04:44 feeling of like, man, like this feels like right.
01:04:44 --> 01:04:47 It just feels right. Because I guess me too,
01:04:47 --> 01:04:50 like when I was in high school and middle school
01:04:50 --> 01:04:52 and I went to the video store, those were the
01:04:52 --> 01:04:54 movies I was always renting. Nightmare on Elm
01:04:54 --> 01:04:57 Street, Friday the 13th, Halloween, Hellraiser.
01:04:57 --> 01:04:59 Those are the movies I was always renting on
01:04:59 --> 01:05:01 VHS, even though I've seen them, like I just
01:05:01 --> 01:05:04 rotate them. every month or every week and i
01:05:04 --> 01:05:07 never got tired of it man it was just it felt
01:05:07 --> 01:05:10 so good like it just the sound of it just starting
01:05:10 --> 01:05:13 like the sound of the tape like oh man it gets
01:05:13 --> 01:05:17 me worked up i have a a few quick questions about
01:05:17 --> 01:05:22 some of the i would say this era what i call
01:05:22 --> 01:05:24 them classic monsters because i was going to
01:05:24 --> 01:05:27 ask you do you think that at least i for some
01:05:27 --> 01:05:30 of them and i'm going to go through a list that
01:05:30 --> 01:05:33 i that i gave you here yeah for some of the villains
01:05:33 --> 01:05:36 or some of the monsters quote unquote that we
01:05:36 --> 01:05:39 have for example what would you say between or
01:05:39 --> 01:05:41 what's the difference between a monster and a
01:05:41 --> 01:05:46 villain when it comes into a horror movie i think
01:05:46 --> 01:05:50 so the villain obviously has bad intentions right
01:05:50 --> 01:05:52 like you can just sense it in certain movies
01:05:52 --> 01:05:55 especially sometimes right off the rip they established
01:05:55 --> 01:05:57 like this is the villain but when it comes to
01:05:57 --> 01:06:00 monsters a lot of the times they're monsters
01:06:01 --> 01:06:04 from circumstance like they weren't they weren't
01:06:04 --> 01:06:06 always like that or they were conjured i mean
01:06:06 --> 01:06:10 look at pumpkin head for example right like pumpkin
01:06:10 --> 01:06:13 head's not just there to kill people it was conjured
01:06:13 --> 01:06:15 the kid died and all that same thing with candy
01:06:15 --> 01:06:19 man right candy man is he the villain in the
01:06:19 --> 01:06:23 movie in the end of the day because he was created
01:06:23 --> 01:06:26 that way like he was the one that was like murdered
01:06:26 --> 01:06:28 and all that stuff and the dude is simply just
01:06:29 --> 01:06:31 getting an eye for an eye and it's funny because
01:06:31 --> 01:06:32 even with Candyman he's not out there trying
01:06:32 --> 01:06:36 to like lure people in like it's the ones that
01:06:36 --> 01:06:39 are calling him and disturbing him same thing
01:06:39 --> 01:06:42 with the fly right with Jeff Goldblum's character
01:06:42 --> 01:06:45 he wasn't a villain he wasn't a bad guy he was
01:06:45 --> 01:06:48 just trying to he was a creator and he turned
01:06:48 --> 01:06:51 into like this monster this creature this giant
01:06:51 --> 01:06:54 fly but it wasn't that he had bad intentions
01:06:54 --> 01:06:58 or anything so I think that's the defining moment
01:06:58 --> 01:07:00 for me it's like with the villain usually it's
01:07:00 --> 01:07:03 just an ill -intentioned person and then a monster
01:07:03 --> 01:07:06 a lot of times it just like it just happens like
01:07:06 --> 01:07:08 it wasn't their fault and even when there's a
01:07:08 --> 01:07:11 monster still not their fault because sometimes
01:07:11 --> 01:07:14 that primitive primitive nature takes over like
01:07:14 --> 01:07:16 in the fly a fly is a good example he turns into
01:07:16 --> 01:07:18 the fly to this creature right so it wants to
01:07:18 --> 01:07:21 feed and if it's it's going based on instinct
01:07:21 --> 01:07:25 you know because if we were to label these creatures
01:07:25 --> 01:07:28 monsters based on instinct i mean then we'd kind
01:07:28 --> 01:07:29 of be screwed because we're just surrounded by
01:07:29 --> 01:07:34 them but that's us i mean seriously man yeah
01:07:34 --> 01:07:37 i mean one would think i mean not to get too
01:07:37 --> 01:07:38 deep or anything but even with like human nature
01:07:38 --> 01:07:41 we're pretty much the most i mean some could
01:07:41 --> 01:07:43 say we are the monsters i mean we're somewhat
01:07:43 --> 01:07:46 most inflicting self -destructive compared to
01:07:46 --> 01:07:49 like a whole natural environment also we're hairless
01:07:49 --> 01:07:51 compared to every other animal so they kind of
01:07:51 --> 01:07:53 look at us and they're like what the hell is
01:07:53 --> 01:07:55 wrong with these guys why are they hairless like
01:07:55 --> 01:07:59 we probably look like weird to them so this is
01:07:59 --> 01:08:02 like a twofer question yeah what's the one monster
01:08:02 --> 01:08:05 that stuck with you that frightened you as a
01:08:05 --> 01:08:10 kid and also what is the one monster that you
01:08:10 --> 01:08:13 would say deserves a killer collection because
01:08:13 --> 01:08:15 obviously we have now freddy with the box set
01:08:15 --> 01:08:17 which i don't think it's a yo which i'm actually
01:08:17 --> 01:08:20 pissed because i i am a hypocrite i said in the
01:08:20 --> 01:08:22 last episode that i wasn't gonna buy it if it
01:08:22 --> 01:08:24 was a sweater i didn't know it was a sweater
01:08:24 --> 01:08:27 and i bought that sweater so kind of kicking
01:08:27 --> 01:08:30 myself for that shit but what's the one monster
01:08:30 --> 01:08:32 that stuck with you that scared the shit out
01:08:32 --> 01:08:34 of you and what's the one monster you think deserves
01:08:34 --> 01:08:39 a killer collection man i can't say that there
01:08:39 --> 01:08:42 was a monster that scared me because for me,
01:08:42 --> 01:08:46 I mean, at a very young age, man, I mean, since
01:08:46 --> 01:08:48 I was literally a little kid in middle school,
01:08:48 --> 01:08:50 elementary school, I was staying up late watching
01:08:50 --> 01:08:53 X -Files, Tales from the Crypt. So I was always
01:08:53 --> 01:08:56 exposed to it. The only stuff that freaked me
01:08:56 --> 01:08:57 out, believe it or not, it's more of like ghost
01:08:57 --> 01:09:01 stuff. Like everything's like pitch black, everything's
01:09:01 --> 01:09:03 dark, or there's like an entity in the room or
01:09:03 --> 01:09:04 something. That's the type of stuff that kind
01:09:04 --> 01:09:07 of makes me uncomfortable. But with that being
01:09:07 --> 01:09:12 said, i'm trying to think of a monster is it
01:09:12 --> 01:09:14 safe to say because they are kind of monsters
01:09:14 --> 01:09:17 like in the hellraiser franchise like yeah the
01:09:17 --> 01:09:21 chatter guy and all that chatter dude those my
01:09:21 --> 01:09:23 favorite see those those are the stuff that made
01:09:23 --> 01:09:26 me uncomfortable like if anything like it wouldn't
01:09:26 --> 01:09:28 so much as scare me but definitely made me extremely
01:09:28 --> 01:09:31 uncomfortable and just having the visual in my
01:09:31 --> 01:09:34 head of it like the thought because they were
01:09:34 --> 01:09:37 so just so Beats of shit and just the way they
01:09:37 --> 01:09:39 looked and everything with the hooks coming out
01:09:39 --> 01:09:42 of their faces and all that. But I would love
01:09:42 --> 01:09:44 to see, and I don't think it would ever happen,
01:09:45 --> 01:09:48 a massive box set with every single Hellraiser
01:09:48 --> 01:09:51 movie. Because... Well, we had the Arrow one.
01:09:51 --> 01:09:54 Yeah, but it's only four. Oh, well, that's true.
01:09:55 --> 01:09:57 Yeah, that's only the four. You're missing the
01:09:57 --> 01:10:01 Hellraiser Hellworld, the one with Henry Cavill
01:10:01 --> 01:10:05 in it. And then the one that they did in 2016,
01:10:05 --> 01:10:08 was it? The one with the female lead? Yeah, the
01:10:08 --> 01:10:10 remake. I would just love to see them all in
01:10:10 --> 01:10:12 there, man, because we have Friday the 13th.
01:10:12 --> 01:10:14 We have Chucky. We have Nightmare on Elm Street.
01:10:14 --> 01:10:18 We have Halloween. We have Phantasm. There's
01:10:18 --> 01:10:21 so many. Puppet Master. We have so many box sets
01:10:21 --> 01:10:24 that are complete. And to not have Hellraiser,
01:10:24 --> 01:10:29 which is an iconic one, or I think, what is it?
01:10:29 --> 01:10:31 Texas Chainsaw Massacre might be another that
01:10:31 --> 01:10:33 would be pretty good. I don't think they have
01:10:33 --> 01:10:36 like a whole box set. That would be another good
01:10:36 --> 01:10:41 one. Leatherface, that's a creepy fuck. That's
01:10:41 --> 01:10:43 a monster right there. It's a whole family of
01:10:43 --> 01:10:47 monsters. Yeah. What are some of the recommendations
01:10:47 --> 01:10:51 before we wrap up? Because I still want to talk
01:10:51 --> 01:10:54 quickly about the box set that I got today. And
01:10:54 --> 01:10:58 it kind of fit with this episode, which I wasn't
01:10:58 --> 01:11:01 planning on it. What are some of the movies that
01:11:01 --> 01:11:07 you would recommend for Halloween? One of them
01:11:07 --> 01:11:08 we definitely mentioned. I think Pumpkinhead's
01:11:08 --> 01:11:12 up there. I love Pumpkinhead. I think Candyman
01:11:12 --> 01:11:16 for sure. I would say you got to go with Halloween
01:11:16 --> 01:11:19 itself. I mean, it's just it's a Halloween movie
01:11:19 --> 01:11:22 and it just never gets old. That one you got
01:11:22 --> 01:11:25 to play on the day of. Play it on the day of.
01:11:26 --> 01:11:29 I want to say Hellraiser. I want to throw Hellraiser
01:11:29 --> 01:11:33 in there. because it's just it's so vicious it's
01:11:33 --> 01:11:36 so creepy that it's just it it's definitely to
01:11:36 --> 01:11:41 me it's it's up there um i want to say hocus
01:11:41 --> 01:11:44 pocus like you mentioned it earlier that dude
01:11:44 --> 01:11:48 i'm a sucker for a lot of those old disney movies
01:11:48 --> 01:11:50 like the ones that they used to play the good
01:11:50 --> 01:11:53 ones like the night at the cineplex the monster
01:11:53 --> 01:11:56 under the bed stuff like that halloween town
01:11:56 --> 01:11:58 so if you want to it's good Dude, so if you want
01:11:58 --> 01:12:00 to spice things up a little bit, you could have
01:12:00 --> 01:12:02 actual horror movies. You could have some of
01:12:02 --> 01:12:05 those in there. I'm trying to think of what else
01:12:05 --> 01:12:07 I thought about. I was like, if I make a concrete
01:12:07 --> 01:12:09 list, then I'm going to be forcing myself to
01:12:09 --> 01:12:11 watch a movie on a day. I'm not going to be in
01:12:11 --> 01:12:13 the mood maybe that day. Maybe I do want to watch
01:12:13 --> 01:12:16 vampires that day or something. But those are
01:12:16 --> 01:12:18 some of the ones I'll throw out there. Just a
01:12:18 --> 01:12:20 classic. Stick to the classics, guys, for Halloween.
01:12:20 --> 01:12:23 Throw in Friday the 13th in there, man. Just
01:12:23 --> 01:12:28 relive the 90s. just have a have a 90s halloween
01:12:28 --> 01:12:30 this year and and and if you have like an old
01:12:30 --> 01:12:34 dusty vhs or dvd even better you know you're
01:12:34 --> 01:12:36 just it's it's so different man like decorate
01:12:36 --> 01:12:39 a little bit because like we don't have that
01:12:39 --> 01:12:42 as much as we used to we got to do a research
01:12:42 --> 01:12:45 here and bring it back i actually like when we
01:12:45 --> 01:12:48 were talking previously i kind of started out
01:12:48 --> 01:12:52 with my party with night of the demons and then
01:12:52 --> 01:12:54 i moved up into interview with the vampire just
01:12:54 --> 01:12:56 because you know it was there with some 4k and
01:12:56 --> 01:12:59 i just wanted to check it out so i kind of just
01:12:59 --> 01:13:02 added that one to the mix but the one the one
01:13:02 --> 01:13:05 that i'm kind of like blessed with and again
01:13:05 --> 01:13:08 this is like between you and me i'll probably
01:13:08 --> 01:13:10 do a video later on for the unboxing which is
01:13:10 --> 01:13:16 the 80s horror but it's the 80s retro boxer that
01:13:16 --> 01:13:19 came out and yeah i keep hitting the mic with
01:13:19 --> 01:13:21 this thing because it's not that big it's actually
01:13:21 --> 01:13:23 pretty it's pretty interesting i think you saw
01:13:23 --> 01:13:26 the the video for the other unboxing so it has
01:13:26 --> 01:13:29 that it has like the spine that is a vhs spine
01:13:29 --> 01:13:31 and then in the back i think it comes with a
01:13:31 --> 01:13:35 lot of other too so it has like that the posters
01:13:35 --> 01:13:39 and all that kind of stuff and i'm like i'm going
01:13:39 --> 01:13:40 through it i'm like yeah i'm probably going to
01:13:40 --> 01:13:44 change my my listing the shining i don't know
01:13:44 --> 01:13:48 the shining to me is not a really uh uh a halloween
01:13:48 --> 01:13:50 movie but i'm gonna go through it because it's
01:13:50 --> 01:13:54 there but i do want to go through a little shop
01:13:54 --> 01:13:56 of horrors which i mentioned to you that i was
01:13:56 --> 01:13:59 like i didn't know it was in this box set yeah
01:13:59 --> 01:14:01 and i canceled the order that everybody's getting
01:14:01 --> 01:14:04 which is the 4k which by the way looks beautiful
01:14:04 --> 01:14:07 i don't like steelbooks the steelbook for little
01:14:07 --> 01:14:10 shop looks beautiful And it has the Lost Boys,
01:14:10 --> 01:14:12 which, you know, right now I'm wearing the sweater.
01:14:12 --> 01:14:15 Kind of like, you know, show a little bit of
01:14:15 --> 01:14:18 respect to them. It has Portugais. It has Nightmare
01:14:18 --> 01:14:21 on Elm Street. So it's only five movies. The
01:14:21 --> 01:14:23 Lost Boys are Shining, Little Shop, Portugais,
01:14:23 --> 01:14:26 and Nightmare on Elm Street. But I just love
01:14:26 --> 01:14:31 the design for a steelbook boxer that you're
01:14:31 --> 01:14:33 paying so much money for. Because this one was
01:14:33 --> 01:14:36 almost the same amount as the Freddy one that
01:14:36 --> 01:14:39 just came out on Amazon. And if you're going
01:14:39 --> 01:14:41 to pay for something like the Freddy one, I'd
01:14:41 --> 01:14:44 rather pay for this because, again, you saw the
01:14:44 --> 01:14:47 VHS designs in the front. That would have been
01:14:47 --> 01:14:50 epic for the Freddy one because at least you
01:14:50 --> 01:14:52 don't have just the sweater. And then when you
01:14:52 --> 01:14:56 flip it over that you had the spines, you can't
01:14:56 --> 01:14:58 see it. You can't see the titles of the movies.
01:14:58 --> 01:15:00 There's so little you can't see it. With this,
01:15:00 --> 01:15:02 I could put this all the way over there in my
01:15:02 --> 01:15:06 shelf and I can see the spine. But for Freddy,
01:15:06 --> 01:15:09 you can't see that. it's kind of stupid and to
01:15:09 --> 01:15:11 me it's a waste of money which again i kind of
01:15:11 --> 01:15:15 didn't already order it but i don't know i'm
01:15:15 --> 01:15:18 gonna add those to my to my halloween list because
01:15:18 --> 01:15:20 i think those are pretty pretty interesting classics
01:15:20 --> 01:15:23 and what the hell now that we're talking i'm
01:15:23 --> 01:15:25 probably just gonna add night of the comet there
01:15:25 --> 01:15:27 too fuck it i'm still probably gonna go all retro
01:15:27 --> 01:15:30 so yeah i'm probably gonna stick with or not
01:15:30 --> 01:15:34 of the demons these five over here a little shop
01:15:34 --> 01:15:37 shining lost boys portuguese nightmare i'm actually
01:15:37 --> 01:15:39 gonna do fright night 2 because i watch it every
01:15:39 --> 01:15:42 year and since you were talking about the second
01:15:42 --> 01:15:45 part i'll probably play the second part because
01:15:45 --> 01:15:47 i i finally found that one on blu -ray for a
01:15:47 --> 01:15:50 nice price while i was traveling and i bought
01:15:50 --> 01:15:52 that shit i'm like this is cheaper than the u
01:15:52 --> 01:15:56 .s i'm buying it and obviously like i got it
01:15:56 --> 01:15:59 close with my sleepy hollow sleepy hollow to
01:15:59 --> 01:16:01 me is a christmas movie by the way It feels like
01:16:01 --> 01:16:03 it, man. It doesn't feel like a Halloween movie.
01:16:03 --> 01:16:06 Yeah, but I play it on both. I play it on Christmas
01:16:06 --> 01:16:08 and I play it on Halloween. But I'm probably
01:16:08 --> 01:16:11 going to close up with those movies. And obviously
01:16:11 --> 01:16:14 Halloween. I play just because the day of, obviously.
01:16:15 --> 01:16:17 You got to respect it. And Hocus Pocus because
01:16:17 --> 01:16:20 why not? And another release that's coming out
01:16:20 --> 01:16:23 that I think is a little pricey was the one that
01:16:23 --> 01:16:24 we were talking about. That was the Scream one
01:16:24 --> 01:16:44 that comes with the phone. Right now, it's like
01:16:44 --> 01:16:46 the 30th anniversary of Scream on the podcast
01:16:46 --> 01:16:49 with some of the guests. And I was going to ask
01:16:49 --> 01:16:53 you, like, do you think Scream would fit into
01:16:53 --> 01:16:57 a Halloween marathon? Man, I want to say as far
01:16:57 --> 01:17:02 as for nostalgia wise, like if you're if if you're
01:17:02 --> 01:17:05 trying to kind of get that vibe from the 90s
01:17:05 --> 01:17:07 and trying to get that type of Halloween, because
01:17:07 --> 01:17:09 I know back then I would have watched Scream
01:17:09 --> 01:17:11 on Halloween. That's the thing, too. It's like
01:17:11 --> 01:17:13 when I when when usually when I'm. every year
01:17:13 --> 01:17:16 when i pick the movies i want to watch i pick
01:17:16 --> 01:17:20 them based on like like what really changed between
01:17:20 --> 01:17:23 when i watched it back then for halloween compared
01:17:23 --> 01:17:25 to now because in the end of the day it is a
01:17:25 --> 01:17:29 horror movie and it's hard to always pick a halloween
01:17:29 --> 01:17:31 movie because there's not that many dedicated
01:17:31 --> 01:17:34 movies towards like the halloween you know and
01:17:34 --> 01:17:36 eventually what happens is the list gets a little
01:17:36 --> 01:17:38 small then you're just kind of watching the same
01:17:38 --> 01:17:40 stuff every year and then you end up on youtube
01:17:40 --> 01:17:43 like for like years on end making the same list
01:17:43 --> 01:17:45 every year except just switching it yeah you're
01:17:45 --> 01:17:48 like oh this year I watched like Halloween and
01:17:48 --> 01:17:51 it's like oh what a surprise you know Halloween
01:17:51 --> 01:17:55 3 yeah so I don't know I mean as listen as long
01:17:55 --> 01:17:59 as it's a horror movie and and like there's like
01:17:59 --> 01:18:01 monsters or a bad guy or something I think even
01:18:01 --> 01:18:04 if it does have monsters or ghosts specifically
01:18:04 --> 01:18:07 ghosts it's it's Halloween because Halloween
01:18:07 --> 01:18:09 when you think Halloween it's ghosts it's monsters
01:18:09 --> 01:18:12 it's But yeah, I think Scream could be in there,
01:18:13 --> 01:18:15 man. I don't see why. Maybe early on Halloween.
01:18:15 --> 01:18:18 Not as you get closer to Halloween, but in the
01:18:18 --> 01:18:20 start of the month to start getting the mood
01:18:20 --> 01:18:23 going. Definitely, I would say get those movies
01:18:23 --> 01:18:25 in the beginning and then start going more towards
01:18:25 --> 01:18:28 Halloween dedicated towards as we get closer.
01:18:29 --> 01:18:31 Yeah, I'm also going to try to check out the
01:18:31 --> 01:18:34 Pumpkinhead 2 because again, it's not so much
01:18:34 --> 01:18:38 that the first one was good, but I hope the second
01:18:38 --> 01:18:41 one continues that atmosphere. that the first
01:18:41 --> 01:18:44 one did but before we wrap up let them know again
01:18:44 --> 01:18:47 where they can find you and also plug in your
01:18:47 --> 01:18:49 podcast one more time and i'm going to tag everything
01:18:49 --> 01:18:52 here at the bottom for those who would like to
01:18:52 --> 01:18:54 follow you they can just go ahead and check the
01:18:54 --> 01:18:56 show notes and everything is going to be linked
01:18:56 --> 01:18:59 there including the cap case and the podcast
01:18:59 --> 01:19:02 dude well first i want to say i appreciate you
01:19:02 --> 01:19:04 having me on brother i had an absolute blast
01:19:04 --> 01:19:07 hanging out talking horror with you and I think
01:19:07 --> 01:19:10 we covered so many subjects when it comes to
01:19:10 --> 01:19:14 film in almost an hour and a half span, man.
01:19:14 --> 01:19:17 But yeah, thank you for having me. And for anybody
01:19:17 --> 01:19:19 listening, make sure if you're listening to this
01:19:19 --> 01:19:20 episode and you haven't already subscribed to
01:19:20 --> 01:19:24 this man's podcast, please do so and follow him
01:19:24 --> 01:19:27 and show him support because it takes a lot of
01:19:27 --> 01:19:29 work and effort to be able to put these things
01:19:29 --> 01:19:32 together and dedication to it too. Because I
01:19:32 --> 01:19:33 mean, at the end of the day, people are working
01:19:33 --> 01:19:36 hard and... You only get so much free time throughout
01:19:36 --> 01:19:40 the day. So make sure to support. But yeah, you
01:19:40 --> 01:19:44 guys could find me on Instagram and YouTube as
01:19:44 --> 01:19:46 Face the Movies. I'm in the process of updating
01:19:46 --> 01:19:49 my letterbox. So if you end up wanting to see
01:19:49 --> 01:19:50 some of the stuff that I'm watching on there,
01:19:50 --> 01:19:52 you could follow me on there too. I got to change
01:19:52 --> 01:19:54 the username. I haven't figured out how to do
01:19:54 --> 01:19:57 it yet. But I have a Twitter. Rarely use it.
01:19:58 --> 01:19:59 So I mean, but you could always follow there
01:19:59 --> 01:20:02 as well. As far as for my podcast, it's called
01:20:02 --> 01:20:04 Friday Night Fright Night. You can find it on
01:20:04 --> 01:20:08 Spotify and Apple Podcast. I do both the recordings
01:20:08 --> 01:20:10 on there. And then if you want to watch the video,
01:20:10 --> 01:20:12 go to Face the Movies on YouTube and you can
01:20:12 --> 01:20:15 watch the video recording as well. I have a new
01:20:15 --> 01:20:17 episode coming out this Friday talking about
01:20:17 --> 01:20:21 the Cube or just Cube from 1997. That's going
01:20:21 --> 01:20:23 to be a lot of fun. Season three, episode four.
01:20:23 --> 01:20:27 And it's my buddy Lee from Media Whiplash. So
01:20:27 --> 01:20:29 we're kind of a little comeback after MIA for
01:20:29 --> 01:20:33 a little bit. And last but not least, if you're
01:20:33 --> 01:20:35 a physical media collector or you don't collect
01:20:35 --> 01:20:38 movies, but you love music and books and comics
01:20:38 --> 01:20:41 or video games, check out my app, Kept Case,
01:20:41 --> 01:20:44 in the App Store. And you could go to keptcase
01:20:44 --> 01:20:47 .app to the website to get more information.

01:20:53 --> 01:20:56 seven days free trial. After that, it's $4 .99
01:20:56 --> 01:20:59 a month or $39 .99 for the whole year. You get
01:20:59 --> 01:21:01 access to all the shelves. Everything's unlimited

01:21:10 --> 01:21:13 to get 10 % off your order and you'll have a
01:21:13 --> 01:21:16 code on there as well. So there's a lot of cool
01:21:16 --> 01:21:19 stuff going on, a lot of URLs. So, dude, I apologize
01:21:19 --> 01:21:25 for all the URLs. No worries. No worries. That's
01:21:25 --> 01:21:27 it for me, man. I mean, hopefully there's no
01:21:27 --> 01:21:31 more URLs in the future. I do hope so, though.
01:21:31 --> 01:21:34 I better have a better community or more support
01:21:34 --> 01:21:37 towards the community than less. So the more
01:21:37 --> 01:21:40 URLs, the better. Yeah, that's true. That's true.
01:21:40 --> 01:21:42 Well, you know what? You motivated me. That's
01:21:42 --> 01:21:44 it, guys. Next time there'll be even more. plugs
